I am a first generation collge student and have worked extensively while in undergrad. I have 5 years experience in the field. 3 Years in Real Estate Law Office and Currently work in a Criminal Defense Law firm....which semi contributed to my poor GPA. Very Active in community and have done a lot of volunteer work. Also was awarded many academic scholarships my first two years of college.... Hoping these will offset the GPA and I get accepted where I would like to!

Accepted at Dayton via E-mail!!!!! E-mail noted apology for the long wait, but I am thrilled! Family is all from Dayton so would definitely not mind going there.

Called Samford to see if maybe I'd be lucky enough to get a decison by phone.....No go. The man was quite irritable...Oops. Ah well. Guess I will have to keep obsessively checking the online status. Sheesh!! I am so anxious to know!

Withdrew from Appalachian...Hate to throw that money away, but I realllly wasn't a fan of the location of App. SOL. Called Dayton to inquire about my acceptance letter, as I have not received the official one yet...The lady on the phone knew who I was already (My name is spelled oddly...) and was really really nice. Said they just sent out a bunch of admission packets today... Just wish Samford would let me know something, so I could start looking for an apartment somewhere!!

Okay....Sorry for no updates but for all those who are checking in the future this is how things played out:

5-21-10

Samford FINALLY e-mailed stating I had been waitlisted and to submit a letter of CI if I wanted or to withdraw my app. I sent a letter of CI.

6-18-10

Paid second seat deposit at Dayton (6-15-10) and attended the admitted student day. Was so impressed. Dayton's facilities are so much nicer than UT's (which is my alma mater....TN not TX.) Which as UT is ranked so High in comparison to Dayton, I was rather shocked to see such a difference. I Know the professors, curriculum, etc are the factor but still was surprised by the difference in facilities and general feel. Found an apartment and gave a deposit. No lease, because would like to hear from Samford first.

Shortly After above, received another e-mail from Samford telling me to hang on and thanks for the patience. They would let me know soon.

Got a Dean's scholarship for 1000. In the grand scheme of UD's price it doesn't help much but hey I was tickled nonetheless.

Still no word from Samford. Moving to Dayton on 8-7-10 to get set up and acclimated. Ready but hella nervous about the horror stories of the 1st year and amount they pile on.
