Extra Curricular Information

Excellent softs, been working consistently since I was 16. 6+ years of professional work experience.
Currently working as a legal assistant.

Took a few more years than usual to graduate undergrad as I was going part-time. Full-time past two years with MAJOR upswing in GPA.(Three 4.0 semesters and one 3.84 semester) Truly worked my hardest to help boost my GPA.

+ Strong LoRs
+ Very strong personal statement
+ Earnest GPA addendum

Additional info & updates

Applied very broadly due to splitter stats. I would ideally like to study then work on the East Coast.

ASU:
10/5 -- not sure what happened. Almost immediate rejection from ASU. Double-checked to ensure my application was correct. Everything checked out, just seems that they REALLY didn't like me. Disappointing to start a cycle this way but here's hoping for better news!

W&L:
11/2 -- Denied to Washington & Lee. Not one of my top choices but still would have liked to see a better outcome. Wrote a small paragraph at the end of my personal statement that functioned as a "Why W&L Law".

Vanderbilt:
11/5 -- had an interview with a Vanderbilt alum. EXTREME long shot, but I applied and wanted to make my application as strong as possible, so I requested the interview. It was very casual. She asked a few standard questions about why I would like to go into law and why Vanderbilt. She was very personable and friendly. I feel as though the main intention of the interview is to determine if you are a good cultural fit for Vanderbilt. Good experience and I feel positive about it.

University of Arizona:
11/15 -- Notified via e-mail that there was an update to my application. Waitlisted. First non-rejection, hey. I will send a LOCI

Fordham:
11/16 -- Ughh, this one hurt. Rejection via email. One of my top choices. Can't say I wasn't expecting it, but it still hurts nonetheless.

California Western:
11/19 -- In at Cal Western. Offered a scholarship that would cover 75% of 1st year tuition. Must remain in top 20% of class to continue tuition coverage for following years. Very happy to finally get an acceptance after a round of rejections and wait lists. Acceptance and scholarship info was via email.

University of San Diego:
11/20 -- Admitted to USD! Decision notification via email. Scholarship details to follow.

Northeastern University:
11/21 -- In at Northeastern Acceptance notification via email. Email states scholarship offers will be evaluated after Dec 15

Seton Hall:
11/28 -- Acceptance via email to Seton Hall. Scholarship info was in status tracker.

Boston College:
12/13 -- Rejection via email.

Hey, saw your comment on my profile. My grade trend was consistently upwards once I got serious about finishing school. Before that, my GPA tanked because I kept dropping out without withdrawing etc. Our GPAs, both LSAC and Degree, are essentially identical. I was surprised by the Loyola reject as well, but everything worked out in the end. I think you'll have a better shot of getting into Loyola than I did. Good luck!

I also got rejected fairly quickly from ASU. Unfortunately for me, it is my only option. Good luck with the rest of your cycle. Maybe writing an addendum and explaining the big upswing in GPA might help.

Just wanted to wish you good luck, and to say, don't dispair about rejects, even fast ones. I was rejected in 4 days - two of which were the weekend - from Boston University, last cycle. Nothing was wrong with my application either. They just didn't like me. But none of that matters, I am at Berkeley Law. My LSAT is the same as yours. Keep your spirits up and know that getting rejected is just a part of the process, albeit a long one, as too are acceptances :)
