I am leaving a whole other (decade +) career in politics, so I have all of that work experience and some pretty kick ass recommendations. I got a MA from NYU, so no surprise there, but Columbia was a complete and utter unexpected shock. I think they sometimes just take a chance.
Hey - I have a BA in English and a BS in psychology. Although my majors showed that I could write as well as do the hard sciences, I don't think that that is what got me into Cornell (or really any school, for that matter)- it really all boils down to the LSAT. Good luck when you take it in September!!
