Extra Curricular Information

Pretty good resume.

----

I cannot stress the importance of the personal statement enough, especially if you're borderline. My advice would be to not merely convey what you have *done* but who you *are,* the former is usually easy and boring. You should make the reader feel something. How else will you distinguish yourself from so many other candidates with similar numbers, if not through your writing?

To URM applicants: PLEASE start early. I think I hurt my chances at places like Stanford and Harvard by dedicating so little time to the LSAT and submitting my applications so late in the cycle.

Additional info & updates

Updates:

06-01-08 Accepted Boalt, because they made me a better offer. Very happy to call myself a Boalt student!

04-17-08 Surprise acceptance @ Columbia Law. Omg so late in the cycle though. Will visit.

---

In March, I withdrew from several schools after being accepted to NYU. Not all though, since financial aid is another important consideration for me.

Leaning towards Boalt, because I love Boalt!

Congratulations on a successful cycle. I see your personal statement was well admired. Do you have any advice on writing a personal statement? I am applying Fall 08. Anything will help. Email me if possible =) Thanks.

Congratulations on Cal Berkeley! I agree, the Personal Statment can make all the difference. My numbers aren\'t stellar but when I interviewed for a scholarship at the school I\'m attending, both panels commented on my personal statement and how fascinated they were with it (described my experience as a Hospice Nurse and how it has shaped my life). Hope you enjoy Boalt.

Congrats

Congratulations on your cycle, I\'m glad it worked out well for you. I see you commented on the importance of the PS; if you\'re open to share, I\'d love to hear what you have to say. Thanks.

If you don't mind me asking, what aspects of Berkeley swayed you over Columbia? Thanks!
