Additional info & updates

Oh please oh please... HYS, take me!

Sent updated (less abrasive) PS to HYSCP (not Chicago). Only Yale said they would guarantee that it would be read.

===========================

2/3: RELIEVED! NYU acceptance in 8.5x11 manilla envelope with 7 sheets of paper in it. Letter dated 1/31
2/22: Temple acceptance in 8.5x11 white envelope. Letter dated 2/15. Beasly Scholarship (Full tuition first year, half tuition next two, provided I stay in top 1/2 of class) notification arrived 2/27. Letter dated 2/23.
3/22: Placed on "priority hold" at Penn. Didn't write the "Why Penn" essay and applied late in the cycle. Plus, my essay blew.
3/28: Received "Reserve List" mail from Columbia. I'm probably going to get rejected by HYS.
4/5: Received UChicago's deferred admissions letter. They mentioned that they were concerned with overenrollment for this year's class. So, they offered me the option of getting in through the waitlist for this year and being guaranteed admission for next year.
4/15: Sent email to decline Temple's acceptance.
4/18: Received Stanford WL letter. I'm really happy about this, since I fully expected to get dinged after sending in my psychotic first PS.
4/20: Waitlisted at Yale. I'm happier about this than I was about S. I wonder if I'll be WL at 6 out of the 8 school. I doubt that there has ever been an applicant like me. Come through for me Harvard!
4/21: Sent in letter of interest to H.
4/22: Sent in acceptance of WL to Y and S.
4/27: Received a phone call from Penn. I think I'm in? I told them that I needed mucho financial aid.
5/2: Sent letters of interest to Y and S.

Yes. "Origoongdengee" is a Korean word literally meaning, "duckbutt". It was a nickname given to me by my Korean friends b/c of my rather large, protruding butt (for a Korean person, which is still somewhat small and flat by Americans' standards).

Thankfully, I have not read my PS since the end of January. If I didn't stop, I would have gone psycho by now. By the way, much congrats on your Yale acceptance.
