I posted this profile because I have found profiles on this site useful in assessing my odds and various schools and getting advice about the application process; figured I should make a contribution.

All waitlist decisions (other than Harvard, Stanford, and Reserve at Cornell) came before I received my score from the February LSAT re-take. My score before the re-take was three points lower, and I submitted an addendum to all of my applications explaining my history of underperforming on standardized tests.

Regarding my applications, I wrote every "Why X school" essay. I think this helped at Penn. Penn was also the only law school that I visited before I was admitted. After I received my second LSAT score (167), I wrote a letter to all ad comms at schools from which I had not already received decisions, updated my application, and wrote about particular programs at each school that interested me. At Penn I also discussed my experience sitting in on classes, and what I'd bring to the classroom.

Rankings are my order of preference for the schools.

6/20/10 - Withdrew from Harvard waitlist

6/10/10 - Rejected at Columbia by snail mail. Not too disappointed, as the finality of the decision allows me to get psyched about Penn (and start looking for apartments in Philly). I plan to withdraw from the Harvard WL soon.

6/9/10 - Still no word from Harvard or Columbia...

5/24/10 - Plan on writing Harvard LOCI soon.

5/18/10 - Wrote LOCI to Columbia.

5/13/10 - Received a call from Fordham admissions asking about my continued interest. Withdrew via email.

5/12/10 - Staying on wait lists at Harvard and Columbia, but will withdraw if I don't hear a decision before July. Withdrew from Stanford's wait list.

5/3/10- Withdrew from the waitlist at Berkeley, and from the hold/reserve list at Cornell.

4/29/10 - Deposit in at Penn. Will attend in the fall, barring acceptances from wait lists (in which case I might have a tough choice).

4/28/10 - Psyched about Penn, and really enjoyed the admitted students weekend a few weekends back. Will likely withdraw from most of the other waitlists soon.
