Extra Curricular Information

As non-traditional applicant (50 by fall), I have years of work experience in professional roles. I also volunteer with CASA. Have some unique softs that help my application. Those softs and work experience may be what are getting me on waitlists at schools that would not otherwise consider my LSAT score (at time 151- March score 154).

Additional info & updates

Originally applied Ohio region only but due to hubby's job loss/search, opened up law school search nationally.

Scholarship money is per year and renewable each year. Considered in-state in Ohio. Requested and received fee waivers from almost all schools.

RETOOK LSAT IN MARCH TO BUMP SCORE AND GET MOVEMENT ON WAITLIST AS WELL AS SEEK HIGHER SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS WHERE I HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED. Thankfully, I did improve my score 3 points. Several schools where I have been accepted have adjusted my scholarship offering as much as $9,000 a year ($27,000 total), so retaking the LSAT was definitely worth it. Now waiting to see if the 3 point bump helps with waitlisted schools.

Notes:
Toledo: $10,000 Merit renewed yearly plus $5,000 Leadership award for Year 1.

Indiana McKinney: $3K merit renewed yearly and $6K MSEP renewed yearly (mid-west tuition remission for nearby state residents)

Northern KY: $18K merit renewed yearly

Wyoming: $6K merit renewed yearly

Syracuse: $17K merit renewed yearly

Idaho: $8K merit renewed yearly

Michigan State: $28K merit renewed yearly - Increased to $35K year after March LSAT score.

Tulsa: Interviewed by phone. Next day received acceptance and $4K renewed yearly. Increased to $12K a year after March LSAT Score.

Kansas: interviewed by phone 1/22. On 2/1 received acceptance, but no scholarship.

Memphis: Granted $7K award each year to offset out-of-state tuition.

Little Rock: Granted award to offset out-of-state tuition for year one. Plus additional $4K merit award renewable yearly.

Gonzaga: $20,000 Dean's Honor Award renewable each year.

Wayne State: Received Scholarship packet 2/17 - $10,000 renewed each year.

Ohio Northern: $21,500 per year renewable each year. Increased to $24K a year after March LSAT score.

Hey i saw that you got waitlisted by OU. I just completed my interview and i was wondering if you had to do one? I saw that it was kind of optional. I only ask because i am extremely interested in OU but have a lower LSAT than you

Hi, yes I did a phone interview with OU. I am waitlisted and am staying in touch with admissions. With my LSAT I know it is likely going to be late in the cycle before I hear from Tier 1 schools who have waitlisted me. Hoping my retake in March gets me a bump in the score that improves my chances. Good luck on your cycle. I know it is nerve wracking!
