1/24 - Accepted at DePaul! What a great feeling to hear back from a school and for it to be an acceptance!! I was just beginning to go crazy from waiting!
I see that many people who are accepted in to Loyola received phone calls before seeing anything in the mail and for Kent an email. I am almost worried that I will see something in the mail from either while having heard no word via phone or email. Does anyone know if this is always the case or do some people find out for the first time through the mail (and get accepted)? Loyola promised a decision within the next 22 days.

2/5 - Accepted at Loyola! Big white envelope in the mail with 4k scholarship for having served in the Peace Corps. This has been my number one choice all along. I respect the school a lot for their message of community service and helping others. Also, the only school I applied to that gives money for serving the community.

2/12 - Accepted at Kent! Notification via email. Acceptance letter mailed.

Kent v. Loyola

Thanks for the comment. Choosing between the two was much harder than I thought it would be. Loyola was my top choice ever since I started looking at law schools in undergrad. I like the certificate programs, the dual degree program, JD/MA, that it's a Catholic school, and its overall feel. They have treated me so well, and I have nothing but positive things to say about LUC. I gained a lot of insight into Kent because my husband is a 2L there. What I really like about Kent is how involved they are in the community (the clinics especially), the choice of certificate programs, how nice the facilities are, and its close proximity to the loop. I sat down and made a list of everything that I liked about each school, and Kent came out on top for me. I have no doubt that you will find what you are looking for at both schools, which makes it even more difficult. Having a choice of schools is a really, really good position to be in! Feel free to email me if you want to talk more. Best, Allison
