Additional info & updates

11-25-11: Sent out most of my applications. Still working on the essays for UGA and UNC.

12-1-11: Accepted to John Marshall. Biggest surprise is it took less than a week. Good way to start the cycle.

12-15-11 In at Mercer via status checker. Got accepted yesterday(12-14-11), but just noticed today.

1-12-12 Accepted to Hofstra via email. Not my first choice, but nice to break the Top 100.

1-14-12 Received scholly info from John Marshall. $13,000/year as long as I finish in the top 1/3. Also am expecting some Honors Scholarship from Hofstra in the next few days. Makes things a little more interesting.

1-17-12 Got a call from Michigan State today that I am in with a 50% scholly. Four for four so far, hoping to keep the acceptances rolling.

1-20-2012 In at Syracuse according to email I received. Met with the dean of admissions at Georgia State. Made me feel better about my chances, but still up in the air. Should know within a month.

2-20-2012 Finally some movement today, albeit none overally positive. My file at LSU finally went under review. Could take 6-8 weeks to find out. Got put on HOLD at GSU. Called the office and they told me HOLD is better than waitlisted, but obviously not accepted, so still holding out hope I get into GSU. Going to send them a LOCI tomorrow.

3-12-2012 No new acceptances to announce, but got a scholarship from Syracuse for $27,000 a year. Probably makes it my top out of state choice right now.

3-29-2012 Waitlisted at LSU. Kinda surprising considering I thought my numbers were good enough. Not too upset considering it was never high on my list. Does not bode too well for Alabama(went to final committee 3/28/2012) or Georgia State(still on Hold) though. Hopefully one of them will like me more than LSU or UGA did.

4-2-2012 Waitlisted at Georgia State. Tough break. Hopefully I will make it, but I hate waiting. As of now it looks more and more likely I'll be attending Mercer in the fall. Withdrawing from LSU as well today.

I see you're focused on regional schools. UGA is the best money value for any Georgia resident, perhaps the entire Southeast. I know it's a push for you, so good luck!

Thanks for the message! Did you happen to attend Accepted Students Day at Mercer, or have you checked out the campus on another occasion? I live about five minutes from it, so if you have questions let me know! Hopefully meet you in August!
