Additional info & updates

4/30-decision made, it was a fun ride

4/13-Columbia financial aid offer letter, listed the average grant over 3 years because its broken down 10-10-5, pretty sure it isn't merit based. Also, matching scholarship application at Berkeley = fail.

3/18-NYU transcript request-withdrew on 4/24

other scholarships are per year, my notification for duke and georgetown both came on 2/25, notification for ucla, usc, scu, and lls came either with or shortly after their admissions packages. chicago let me know i wouldn't be getting a merit scholarship offer on 3/9 thru snail mail

pre-lsat: princeton review class (long one), good teacher (in berkeley), my first diagnostic was at 157 (had only seen a couple games and nothing else before that). bottom line for me was that, class or no class, it was still on me to get through the practice they offer (there's tons) but a class helped keep me focused (i'd say i did about 2/3 to 3/4 of the work offered).

fee waivers: got usnews 4-19 (except berkeley) fee waivers plus lots of others based on "merit" (lsat and gpa 3.75 and up), takes a little patience to get a lot of them though

application:
letters of rec: both of mine are from professors. i got on them early and it was still a long process, i guess people do have lives after all...seems to have come out well in the end though, i'm extremely grateful to both of them. for what it's worth, i didn't do targeted stanford lors, their application instructions stressed their importance but i figured my recommenders had had enough of me...

personal statement: lots of soul searching and many drafts. i think the final product was good. i didn't do any optional essays but included why each school was attractive to me. also, touched on my interest in the public interest.

visited (PM if you want a review): Columbia, Georgetown, Berkeley, UCLA

That helped but...

I guess my question is how does the index on this site work? For example: Villanova has my index score as a 2.9 and so does Tulsa. Tulsa was a safety school, and I received my acceptance from Tulsa a week after I applied. Villanova is probably my furthest reach school, so why do they have the same scores?

Haha

Thanks, I thought it would be something simple like that but I just couldn't figure it out hahaha
