Additional info & updates

Given my numbers, I'm expecting few, if any, acceptances. With that being said, I'm applying to a number of schools that I'd be happy with going to. I suppose you won't know what would've happened if you never tried.

*PS I'm not putting my actual school name because it is small and people may figure out who I am....heh*

--------------General Notes-------------------

On Priority Track for Duke.

Why Duke, Georgetown, UVA, and Penn. Had a mix-up regarding the Why UVA and had to send it in via email. Cornell's Why X statement is a requirement (although briefer than optional Why X statements)

Diversity statement submitted to all schools that accepted one.

------------Updates-----------

10/5/18: Group interview request for Georgetown. Couldn't go since I already went to one previously and there is a rule about applicants only attending group interviews once.

10/11/18: Admitted to Duke!!

10/15/18: Skype interview for UVA

10/16/18: Logged into my status checker and saw I was admitted to UVA!!

10/22/18: Vanderbilt alum interview

11/10/18: Got the letter in the mail saying I got into Georgetown! Dated 10/22.

11/15/18: Got the call from NYU--I'm in!!

11/21/18: Invitation to interview from Columbia

11/27/18: Accepted to George Washington via email. Scholarship amount is lump sum

11/28/18: Columbia Law interview via Skype

12/3/18: Accepted to BU via phone

12/13/18: Accepted to Vanderbilt via letter posted to status portal

12/17/18: Accepted to Penn via phone!!!!!!!!

1/15/18: Accepted to Columbia via email! Physical letter to follow.

>>All scholarship amounts are merit-based only<<

>>It's worth mentioning that, after being accepted to my top choice, I didn't go through any merit-based scholarship applications for other schools, as I wanted to avoid seeming disingenuous about my intentions to attend other schools. So, among the T14, excluding UPenn, UVA was the only school that did not have a separate application or process for merit-based scholarships, which is why I was awarded something from UVA. I also didn't respond to the feeler email from Georgetown about scholarships, seeing as they specifically requested that only individuals who were "strongly considering" Georgetown apply. So my outcomes for who awarded me merit scholarships aren't entirely indicative of what possibly could have happened.<<

We seem to have similar stats. Good luck with your cycle. I hope you get in one of your top choices.

@raisingthebar Thanks so much for the kind words. It's definitely been hard perusing the interwebs and seeing people put scores like mine down, so I'm sure you've been there too. Hang in there, I'm sure you'll end up somewhere great! :)

I am not surprised....

at even your early awesome outcomes! Congrats and may you have continued success as your cycle unfolds further :)

@RoundTwoHopeful Thank you!!! I'm hoping that you get into the schools that you've applied to as well (hopefully with some ca$h money to boot!)

Saturday, March 17 2018 at 05:22 PM

Congratulations! Did nyu or georgetown offer you any money?

@TrustingGod
Saturday, September 29 2018 at 12:54 PM

Thanks so much! My understanding is that no scholarship offers go out for those schools until at least January.

Saturday, March 17 2018 at 05:22 PM

Are the scholarships you got for all three years?

@TrustingGod
Saturday, September 29 2018 at 12:54 PM

For both BU and GW they are for three years :)

Saturday, March 17 2018 at 05:22 PM

I'm sorry just clarify those prices are for three years total? So the 90,000 at BU is actually 30,000 per year?

@TrustingGod
Saturday, September 29 2018 at 12:54 PM

Haha no worries :) It's for three years total. Meaning that the $90,000 is divided over the course of three years--$30,000 per school year. Sorry if I wasn't making sense before!

I am so proud of you, this is a great list of acceptances! Hopefully you continue with more!

This is amazing!!! I hope you are celebrating tonight.

Did any other schools (such as nyu, u penn, duke etc) offer you scholarships?

@Breakthrough
Saturday, September 29 2018 at 12:54 PM

None of those schools offer scholarships prior to January (and that's the earliest), so any schools that don't have scholarship offers next to them haven't gone through that process yet.

Congrats on an amazing cycle so far!!!

Congrats on all the acceptances! Quick question, on your Vanderbilt status checker did you have an "x" next to TOEFL score? Just want to make sure my application is complete because I can't seem to find where my "status" is on the status checker

@altsy
Saturday, September 29 2018 at 12:54 PM

Hmm not really sure about that one. I never checked the status checker for Vandy until they emailed me about status update/decision, so it may or may not have been the case for me as well!

Congrats on columbia!

Do you remember your under review dates for NYU?

@Breakthrough
Saturday, September 29 2018 at 12:54 PM

Hey! UR1 roundabouts 10/3, and UR2 the first few days of November, I think. I could be wrong, though!

Saturday, December 22 2018 at 07:58 AM

Good Job on the LSAT. What LSAT prep course did you use to study with? I'm torn between LSAT MAx online and Powerscore Online

@Dana Mae
Saturday, September 29 2018 at 12:54 PM

Hey, thanks - I used PowerScore online, which was good since there are in-depth answers for each question pretty much.

Tuesday, October 23 2018 at 08:06 PM

Congrats on your acceptances! You totally killed this cycle.
