Additional info & updates

04/18 Barring a miracle from Harvard, NYU it is! I was very grateful for Columbia's acceptance and financial aid offer, but I just couldn't pass up the clinical opportunities at NYU and the superstar Legal Philosophy faculty there. I think I've made the right choice!

04/12 Stanford rejection letter arrived today. Postmarked 04/01. Oh well, I knew it when I got the DLS on the status checker...

04/12 Exploding offer from NYU, Dean's Scholarship for $25,000 over three years, expires 04/18

04/05 Financial Aid from Columbia. $25000 over three years plus. Happy to have gotten some money!

04/01 "Decision Letter Sent" at Stanford... :-( Not good news

03/18 Held at Harvard. Would love a JR1... Pretty please?!

03/02 Accepted at BU via email. (Withdrawn)

02/14 Accepted at Columbia via email. Thrilled and really surprised at the relatively quick decision. Now I actually have a decision to make!

02/11 Waitlisted at Chicago via email. Disappointed... Really thought I had a good shot there

02/04 Email from Georgetown. Placed on their "Preferred Waiting List". Not happy. Sigh, wonder what I did wrong? Oh well, will be withdrawing. Good luck for all other Georgetown applicants.

01/31 Received decision letter from NYU! Admitted... phew, sigh of relief.

01/22 - Rejected from Berkeley :-(

01/19 - Able to log on to the NYU admitted students website. Good news maybe!

01/18 - Decision Letter sent on NYU status checker.

Georgetown Waitlist

Hey man, You probably did nothing wrong for Georgetown other than being overqualified and not showing real interest. I also got relegated to their "preferred" wait list with numbers in your range. It seems Georgetown is playing the yield protect game to game their matriculant rate, which affects their ranking. You already have a great option with an acceptance and NYU and you're still in the running at many other fine institutions. Best of luck!

Thanks for your message! I am leaning Columbia at the moment but Berkeley's quick acceptance gave them and edge because I spent a week or so thoroughly looking over Berkeley. I feel I can be very happy going there. But, it's also very difficult to pass on Columbia. Which school is your top choice btw?

Congrats on Columbia! I'll be at Columbia ASP on March 30 / 31. No word from NYU on my end. Regarding NYU vs. Columbia, you can't really go wrong as both are top-level schools. Having the option is certainly a great position to be in :) What're you looking to study?
