Addendum written for poor GPA.
* On a side note I most likely messed up my Undergrad GPA by sending in a transcript from one semester from a CC. The semester did not contribute to my graduation in any way. Actually my graduating college lost the transcript and acted like they never had it. Any thoughts about whether I should have included this?

Great LORs and Softs.

Worked with at risk youth for years.

Masters degree as well.
Honor Fraternity for Masters GPA.

LSP predicts that in every instance I stand absolutely no chance for admission. I'm pretty sure they're wrong in at least one instance.

***And they are! ***

Also accepted to
Barry and St Thomas University which were late additions.

****************************************************
OK so I promised some tips and here they are.

Why should you listen to someone who only got a 151 on their LSAT? Easy! You can learn from my mistakes. I can tell you what I did and then you should do something different.

*Prep tests. I took only 7-8 of these while prepping for the exams. Big mistake. I literally should have taken 30. I did see some improvement, but not like I was hoping to. I tested way below my pretest numbers and I bet that most test takers do too.

*Study time. I was lucky to get an hour a day of Powerscores Bible study time. Honestly being a dad and studying for grad school while working didn't allow me much time at all. Regardless, you need to put in plenty of time, say 2 hours daily.

*Start early. I started getting serious in November for the December test and my "serious" was only what others pre-serious work ethic had been. And know what? My numbers show that!

*Classes. If you have the money, time, and happen to live in the vicinity of a Kaplan test prep center, or whom ever go for it. I live roughly two hours from anywhere so that wasn't going to happen for me.

****************************************************

My impression of law schools that I applied to currently:

* The Bad. These schools have earned my Hall of Shame nominations. They are: 1. Santa Clara, who has a terrible administrative staff and no clue as to how the Jesuit Intellectual tradition forms their collective approach to learning the law. Tsk tsk tsk! 2. Marquette, did not even look past the numbers and read my essays or recommendations. 3. University of St. Thomas. Seriously you sent a big envelope to reject someone? Freaking window lickers!

* The Suspicious. These schools I cannot prove looked only at the numbers, but it seemed to be acting in that way. Washington and Lee, University of Oklahoma, Cal, Loyola Chicago. Not that I should have gotten in to any of these schools, yet the rejections came so fast it seemed like they never even looked at any other aspect of my application. University of Minnesota gets a special nod here as well. Trying to get me to apply with stats way under the 25% range is deplorable.

*The Good. These schools either had no business looking at my profile seriously and did, or treated me really well along the way. University of Alabama, Notre Dame, and Boston College. Of the schools that impressed me after acceptance that honor falls to Ave Maria and Barry.

*The Rest. The rest didn't nothing to either improve my view of them, nor did they do any damage to my perception of them.

****************************************************
Random Thoughts!

*You might think that getting an advanced degree would make up for a lousy undergrad GPA. If you did, you'd be wrong. I'm graduating with an MA and an overall GPA of 3.93. I was flat out rejected by the school that I just dominated in my field. Numbers to some might not be everything, but to many they are the only thing!

*I had been considering retesting, but at this point in my life I am better off choosing a school and trying to transfer. As a Non-trad, time isn't exactly a luxury I have to waste anymore. No complaints though! I'm glad to have lived the life I have so far. And I don't think a year in one of the schools I was admitted to is a bad thing.

*I still have a friend on a wait list. The date is 7/21/2011. That's pretty amazing. I can't but help think that by keeping her mouth shut until she was officially placed on the wait list helped her out. Perhaps I'm wrong but I doubt it. If I had it to do over I wouldn't have called those schools at the end of April/May, but would have waited for them to get ahold of me.

Additional info & updates

*Actually my name comes from a Simpson's House of Horror episode. Classic.
** Scholarships, assuming I get any, will be by year.

When you got a whole bunch of waivers why not double down?

I expect to get into maybe 1-3 schools on this list, but I'm not too concerned. Might just as well ride out this cycle and test again when I have the time to study properly.

Good luck in your cycles too!

Applied to schools from Nov. to Dec, but took the Dec. LSAT so results are just starting to come in.

10/08/10 Bonerland had to turn down an offer to play the half-time show in the Super Bowl due to a prior engagement. While I am disappointed, I am sure that whoever they find will put on a great performance.

1/13/11 Rejected from Washington and Lee via status checker. For a first ding this one didn't hurt at all, contrary to what I thought I would feel.

1/20/11 Santa Clara and BC are in committee.

1/24/11 Emailed saying my applications are complete for Santa Clara, USF, and Catholic U.

1/25/11 Just found out I was dinged by Marquette via snail mail a couple days ago. I'm not in Rome for this ding, so it hurts a bit more. The letter was dated on 1/19/11. When updating college information in the college section itself, I noticed that often when I place a date in complete it shows up in received. Odd....

1/27/11 Dinged at Oklahoma. That information could have come sooner. On a positive (I hope) note Loyola Chicago is sending their decision through the mail.

1/28/11 Dinged at Cal. If this cycle was a classic Nam movie from the 80's, this is where everyone would be getting blown up. Not upset though. Cal is a great school, it's just Berkley I can't stand. =P

2/1/11 Dinged at Loyola Chicago. Nice classy letter in the small envelope.

2/06/11 Crap!

2/8/11 For the umpteenth time my inbox has emails from Cooley, University of Minnesota (guess they want to seem more selective), Quinnipiac and Charlotte School of Law. No thanks!

2/9/11 More mail from Quinnipiac. I'm considering filing a restraining order...

2/13/11 Just a quick update on my dates. I'm probably going to take them down due to the fact that when I enter a date into one category it will inevitably be placed in another category. IE I put down the date received and it is then placed in the complete category. Other than that it's been slow. Real slow....

2/15/11 Shot down at UGA. No email or letter, just a classless update on my status check. Will not reapply when I retake.

***UPDATE***
A very nice letter did arrive some days later. So I am eating crow and manning up.

2/17/11 Shot down at UIowa via status checker. No letter or email yet either. Honestly Georgia and Iowa are bad breaker-uppers. Have the class to send a letter or at least an email! While both are good schools (and heartfelt kudos to those who did get in), I don't get the feeling that I will miss out on anything.

***UPDATE***
A very nice letter arrived some days later. Eating more crow and manning up. Perhaps Iowa and Georgia should just send nice emails or have a status checker that says decision mailed.

2/18/11 Dinged at Penn via a beautiful email. NOW THAT IS HOW YOU REJECT SOMEONE!
... Dinged at Northwestern in odd fashion, but the notice was respectful. Told to check status and then download a letter, which then told me I was out. LOL. Didn't expect to get into either school, so oddly enough it's the way the let me down that will dictate if I will apply to them when I retest.

2/19/11 Dinged at Santa Clara. I sat in on a class here in the early fall and thought the teacher was wonderful. However, I also talked to people in admissions when I went to visit prior to my LSAT test and was not impressed by them at all. I miss out on that particular teacher, but I'm not sure I missed out on the experience at Santa Clara as a whole. Good luck to all that go there. Just pretty sure that I would have been unhappy there. As their rivals say "Buck the Froncos!"

2/24/11 I'm not one to usually talk about nothing, but it is slow right now! Odd considering I'm waiting to hear back from 20 schools. I'll just have to be more patient and wait for the flying monkeys to come to me I guess.

2/25/11 The Flying Monkeys attack!!! And ding me from Ohio State. Damn you Flying Monkeys!!!
***More flying monkeys on the horizon. Catholic U. decision rendered to be mailed via status checker, so that's a negative response.
***Flying monkeys from Hell unleash doom and banish me from the University of Hawaii. Incredibly nice message that tops Penn as the "best way to let someone down" rejection email.

2/28/11 Today was a sucker punch sort of day. Dinged at Catholic, which was expected. Loyola Ding was expected, but when the status checker says decision mailed on 2/28 and later on that day I get invited to a prospective student internet session it began to give me hope. For why would someone invite another to a Q and A session after they had been rejected? Yet here we are. Perhaps I will log into that session and ask: "what sort of sick freak would invite someone to a prospective student session after they had been rejected?" Still things could be a lot worse. I still got my health!

3/1/11 Decision mailed from USD to arrive in a few days.

3/4/11 Dinged at USD. If I had cared a ton about going to USD I would have gone here: http://nooooooooooooooo.com/ and hit the button. SD would have been nice though.

***Just got an email from Santa Clara asking to attend a function. Are you serious? HA!***

3/5/11 Got a huge pack in the mail!
.
.
.
.
Turns out it was only Quinnipiac trying to make out with me again. But hey, the school looks beautiful and I hope their students are happy.

3/7/11 USF and SLU decisions mailed.
***Got Ave Maria packet in the mail today. $5,000 per year assuming I maintain a 3.0 GPA. It's good to finally get some good news.

3/8/11 Accepted at Barry University via status checker. Packet to follow. It's better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick!

3/10/11 Dinged at USF and Duke. Way to ruin my high USF! On another note, I actually really like USF, partially because if your numbers sucked like mine do, there was the chance you could work your butt off and get merit scholarships for 2L and 3L. Duke is Duke and I never expected to get in there. Which is too bad, because I wanted to see Dick Vitale attempt to make out with Coach K.

3/11/11 Dinged at Loyola: New Orleans. I was kind of surprised by this actually. I was invited to the conditional program of which I have only heard bad things. Anyone else hear anything about this program?

*** Dinged at Saint Louis University as well. Nice letter, a bit of a reach that was apparently too far.

With that said I expect to only get into St. Thomas University in Miami of the remaining schools. Time for a reflective "Do you believe in miracles?" moment.

3/14/11 Packet arrived from Barry with a scholarship of $9,000 per year with a stipulation of keeping a GPA of 2.8. The median GPA at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_law_school_GPA_curvesis
is listed as 2.71.

3/15/11 Dinged at William and Mary. Nice email. Kind of forgot about this school.

3/16/11 Ran into the brother of the dean at Loyola University Chicago Law School today at work. lol. Where the hell were you two months ago?!

3/18/11 Dinged at Georgetown and UCLA. Both schools would have been fun, but neither would have been my top pick rankings notwithstanding.

3/22/11 Dinged at Harvard. Apparently my animal magnetism was too much for the old lady. And life goes on...
*** 9 schools left to hear from. I'm surprised it's taking this long...***

3/23/11 Dinged at ASU, so I guess that means no gear with the tanned fat frenchman logo on it. Let's hope heaven is really easier to get into than ASU! ;)

3/24/11 Dinged at the University of Chicago through a really nice letter. No getting drunk at the Indiana Jones house for me. =*(

***Accepted at St. Thomas University in Miami. That and Duke getting a beat down made for a great night! =)

3/28/11 Packet form St. Thomas U. arrived today. $5,000 a year scholarship provided that I stay in the top 25% of the class. Personally, I do harbor secret fantasies of running around Miami and busting drug dealers with a cool sidekick. Then I see myself kicking back at some bar as scantily clad women in bikinis inexcusably saunter about the place as I enjoy life. Still, I don't think Miami is the place for me. That could change though.

3/29/11 Dinged from Arizona today. It reads decision mailed, minus the lucky blue "congratulations" on it. Looks like Derrick Williams won't be the only guy absent from the old pueblo next year...

4/1/11 Very slow week in terms of official news. I called some of the schools I have yet to hear from with mixed results. Some were very nice and pleasant and gave great info. Others were clearly burned out and ready to scream. In those cases I was just my pleasant "please and thank you, mam" self. I was glad to see that schools I should have been denied from actually seem to be looking at my file.

And yes, I know that numbers like mine often mean I get looked at much later than the people with 3.96 and 170 stats. Still making it past the first round of the process, as one school of the 5 remaining commented, is better than a flat out rejection. It shows that they are really considering my prospects versus letting solely the numbers dictate my fate.

4/2/11 Dinged at Pepperdine. No California Love for me!

4/4/11 Official ding from UofA arrived today. A nice letter that was personally signed (not computerized) by someone. Perhaps a secretary? Review at Villanova was updated to today's date. Soooo.....UConn or Butler?

4/9/11 Not a darn thing is happening around here. This did crack me up a few weeks ago. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9QS0q3mGPGg Enjoy!

4/11/11 Decision rendered from BC via status check. No email following up. If the law gods like me a waitlist. If not, then that's a ridiculous long wait to get dinged.

4/14/11 Dinged at Villanova. Sorry Spankatola!

4/16/11 Dinged at Alabama. I talked to the office about a week ago where I was told I had made it past the first round of cuts after being reviewed. I then said I would send out updated transcripts from my current university which shows an improved grade. Dinged before they received them. Dang it!

4/18/11 Dinged at Boston College. Not a surprise, still kind of sad that there has been no love from the social justice crowd. Only Notre Dame and St. Thomas left...

4/20/11 Dinged at Notre Dame via email. This, I think, would have been the most enjoyable school on my list. There is always next year!

4/24/11 Happy Easter!

4/26/11 The ding letter from Notre Dame arrived. It was nicely written. Not the best of the cycle, but clearly not the worst. Still waiting on UST and I'm cool with that. No need for me to give them a call. I'm also contemplating writing a little bit about the mistakes that I made in this admissions cycle concerning some study habits I had prior to taking the LSAT. We'll see.

4/30/11 Yesterday UST had updated the status checker to decision sent. I think we all know what that will mean in terms of a negative response, but I'll wait till I get word in writing to update my profile further. So this is the apparent end of the current cycle.

I hope this helps out any who are looking into these schools that I've applied to and have similar numbers. I will post some tips in my extracurricular section dealing with things I did well on, things I failed to do well on and what I believed would have helped me to do better.

Thanks for all who commented, and if you want to hear more about my plans for the future you should feel free to send me a message. Love Ya! God bless!

5/2/11 I was surprised that when I went to the post office my box had a large white envelope in it. With anticipation I looked at the large white envelope and noticed something. Only one piece of paper in it. I said "You've got to be kidding me!" I then opened it up and sure enough it was a rejection. Nicely worded, but seriously guys, a big envelope? What the hell are you thinking?

LOL, so that's the end of this cycle for me. I will post in a few days about what I've decided to do. Take care till then!

5/3/11 Ok so I've put up a few tips that I wish I had followed when I was prepping for the LSAT. I also have given my impression of various schools and how well they've performed according to an objective grading system sanctioned by yours truly.

5/27/11 I've decided where I am attending next year. Certain numbers were invariable altered, blah blah blah. If you want to know just message me and I'll let you know the finer details. Good luck!

6/28/11 Villanova sent me an email saying that I had been rejected. Hey Villa! You sent that same letter months ago! It's mistakes like this that make me feel better about not getting in at school X.

Good luck
Wednesday, January 12 2011 at 07:00 PM

Good luck sir, looks like we're both in for an unpredictable ride, but your unique candidacy should definitely carry you into many of your schools. We've applied to a lot of similar schools too so I'll be keepin you on my watch list :)

Good luck to you too sir! I must admit that I'm a bit jealous. You've applied to more schools than I did and I got application envy. lol. And with your LSAT score I can see you getting into many of your schools.

Similar numbers
Wednesday, December 08 2010 at 07:00 PM

Our numbers are a lot alike and we applied to alot of the same schools I am definitely going to be keeping up with up with your profile. Do you mind posting you sent/complete for apps so i can compare dates

@dink3500
Wednesday, January 12 2011 at 07:00 PM

Well I can, but I'm not sure how much that would help out. Here's why: I sent out all applications primarily around thanksgiving with the exception of a small few in the first week of December. Stanford was the last one sent out. Having taking the LSAT in December results were held to Jan. 7th: at which time the reports where sent out to every school I applied to. After a week I emailed a few schools when my online checker still said incomplete. They assured me that they had received the reports, but had not been able to update the information electronically. Every couple of days I am told by this various school that my application is complete and in review or ready for review. In reality though, that could very likely be merely the date in which the information was entered in as being complete. For all I know that could of happened after it's been in review for a few days. But over the next couple of days I will update with dates from when the school has sent me notice of an application being complete.

TWIN DINGS

first ding didnt hurt that much, but i was expected to get ding from there

@dink3500
Wednesday, January 12 2011 at 07:00 PM

Glad to see your first ding didn't sting that much too. WL just doesn't know what they're missing out on.

thank you =)
Tuesday, November 23 2010 at 07:00 PM

you are the best! good luck on the cycle! I have a good feeling! which school is your first choice?

@CALIhopeful
Wednesday, January 12 2011 at 07:00 PM

I think of the schools on this list that I have a chance if getting in, I would have to say that Loyola New Orleans is my first choice. Other than that, I think I have an outside chance with USF and Santa Clara, which would be fine schools to attend, but not devastating if I didn't get in.

Nope
Wednesday, December 08 2010 at 07:00 PM

yea i withdrew i am no longer taking it becuase i got into a t1, hopefully i get into a couple more though

Stanford
Monday, March 08 2010 at 07:00 PM

Thanks for your post and positive encouragement. I thought a long time about Stanford, but at this point, I'm going to move forward with my East Coast acceptances. Being from New York City, I already have a strong personal/professional network out East and want to continue to cultivate these ties during law school. Good luck with your cycle and in your future endeavors.

the name game

Thanks for the post...it made me laugh...had I went with stretchnutz I'd claim victory. I admire your gusto...do it big or don't do it at all.

predictions
Thursday, September 02 2010 at 08:00 PM

I'm comparing LSP predictions to reality, too. Also comparing LSAC's predictions. I find their predictions aren't always consistent. Have you compared the two?

@ RachelLynne

Honestly I haven't done that yet, but when I can I will.

Had you gone with "stretchnutz" I would have indeed conceded defeat.

Hey
Friday, December 24 2010 at 07:00 PM

Thanks for the kind words man. I'll be following your cycle I hope you get into somewhere great.

Tuesday, November 23 2010 at 07:00 PM

Bonerland!!! I'm so sorry I haven't kept up with blogs! I just don't have much to write about =( But I did throw in a short update today. Nonetheless, I've still been LSN active and I've kept closely posted to your cycle! Best of luck on the rest of your cycle, I suspect good news to come soon. Cuz i'm just psychic like that lol ;)

@CALIhopeful
Wednesday, January 12 2011 at 07:00 PM

You rock! And I hope you right. Some good news would be welcome right about now.

Oh damn! G'town was probably mad cause I said I preferred huskies more than bulldogs. And also, the banana slug is the coolest mascot ever! Anyways, cheers for the message. Good luck for your cycle. I definitely know that LSP can be wrong ;-)

Barry
Monday, October 04 2010 at 08:00 PM

Thanks for the Congrats on Barry. At this point I'm leaning towards Barry, however, we'll see what happens with the other schools. How are you feeling about acceptances, etc? Goodluck!

@Iliftheavyweights
Wednesday, January 12 2011 at 07:00 PM

I feel pretty good about my chances at some of the lower ranked schools. But for now, I'll just have to bide my time waiting for news. Which is of course the worst part until you hear something positive.

Sunday, January 09 2011 at 07:00 PM

i think im going to ignore the status checkers for a few days..haha..i keep on refreshing the page thinking something will change...i feel slightly delusional..goodluck on your cycle though! fingers crossed for hearing some great news soon! :)

Thank you!
Wednesday, January 12 2011 at 07:00 PM

Thank you, it's still early in the cycle so let's both hope for the best!

Wednesday, December 08 2010 at 07:00 PM

your cycle is far from over, but i know the waiting game sucks. You say your going to retake which i was strongly considering. After my visit to d.c i'll further know where i stand. GL

thank you!
Wednesday, January 05 2011 at 07:00 PM

thank you for the kind words :) I wish you luck in law school as well! The waiting game is definitely not fun but I am sure you will get into the perfect school for your future legal career :)

Hang tight!!!
Wednesday, January 12 2011 at 07:00 PM

The best is yet to come!!!

Thanks!
Saturday, October 30 2010 at 08:00 PM

Thank you so much for your kind words! Is there a particular school that you want to go to?

Thanks Everyone!
Wednesday, January 12 2011 at 07:00 PM

Thanks everyone for the support! I still have a lot of schools to hear from before I decide to pack it in for a semester. @Justmyluck88, There are the dream schools that I'm pretty much sure I have no chance in hell of getting into. But for the sake of having an answer I will say the University of Notre Dame. Best fight song in the country. I would have no problem paying sticker prices to go there. Of schools that suddenly seems much more probable I was looking at lot at Loyola New Orleans, but I'm a bit more worried about the UG's having to pay 6% more next year and not sure what that means law school students will have to pay. We'll have to wait and see though. I'm pretty sure a surprise or two will be coming down the pike.

Good Luck bonerland!

Dropped by to say hello and happened to read your very entertaining profile. Stay positive! :D

Thanks
Friday, July 30 2010 at 08:00 PM

Just wanted to let you know your comment brightened an otherwise awful day. I hate the admissions process..

SC
Tuesday, November 23 2010 at 07:00 PM

Sucks when the admin rubs off the wrong way, and it could completely change how you feel about a school. I'm glad you at least got to meet an awesome prof! It just sucks because sometimes you will never interact with these very same admin employees ever again, but their first impression can stay with you forever!

Friday, December 24 2010 at 07:00 PM

Any good news today?

@ uncOmmOn1
Wednesday, January 12 2011 at 07:00 PM

Well, I got the crap kicked out of me by evil flying monkeys who then informed me that I was dinged at 3 schools. Then I had a beer and watched Blazing Saddles, so the day wasn't a total loss.

your right
Wednesday, December 08 2010 at 07:00 PM

I was just a bad way to start the month. Hoping for some good news!!!

Friday, December 24 2010 at 07:00 PM

Thanks a lot for the kind words. Just sucks I don't drink beer :(. But if you want to line up some shots I'm down. Also I have a good feeling about San Diego. If you end up there we gotta hangout some time.

Saturday, December 11 2010 at 07:00 PM

I appreciate a good competition as much as the next idiot, but I'm pretty sure that Spankatola Jamnuts is the Poobah of Bonerland. As such both names represent me, and there can be no race between us. Had you been my archnemesis, The Holy Viagrail...

@Spankatola
Wednesday, January 12 2011 at 07:00 PM

Hmmm. So I'm you and you are me? The idea has merit. I love the way your foul little mind works!

@Spankatola
Wednesday, January 12 2011 at 07:00 PM

I'm not really sure why exactly. They've never even sent 1 email at all. LOL guess it's better to have a nice stalker than an insulting one though. I mean having a Regent admissions counselor following me every where telling me I suck for not applying to them would be rather awkward to say the least.

@uncOmmOn1
Wednesday, January 12 2011 at 07:00 PM

Shots would have been great in SD, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen. Perhaps we can have shots at Harvard and then F up some smart kids! =D

CONGRATS!
Wednesday, January 12 2011 at 07:00 PM

Congrats on your first acceptance!!! I've been waiting for this moment!

@Glasshalfull
Wednesday, January 12 2011 at 07:00 PM

Thanks Buddy! Yeah it feels good to have at least one accept. A little bit of money on top of that doesn't hurt either. Now hopefully some other opportunities can open up and we can make some good things happen!

Bout time
Wednesday, December 08 2010 at 07:00 PM

Good stuff ive been waiting on you to knock the door down gratz

@dink3500
Wednesday, January 12 2011 at 07:00 PM

Thanks! Yeah it's good to be on the other side now.

@everyone
Wednesday, January 12 2011 at 07:00 PM

OK this profile will not turn into a thread where we bash schools.

Thank you
Saturday, November 27 2010 at 07:00 PM

Hey, boner (lulz) Your e-support means a lot to me. Thank you very much! As for the novel--you should definitely check it out. Your username tells me you would like it a lot. Congrats to you on your recent acceptances! IT'S NOT OVER! Keep hope alive.

CONGRATS!
Tuesday, November 23 2010 at 07:00 PM

congrats on maria and barry!!! =))

@assLuxury
Wednesday, January 12 2011 at 07:00 PM

Thanks for your support too! I can't wait till I actually have time to just sit back, relax for a minute and read that novel. Should be in June.

@Calihopeful
Wednesday, January 12 2011 at 07:00 PM

Hey Stranger! Where have you been? Thanks for the congrats! Nice to see you around.

Yea
Wednesday, December 08 2010 at 07:00 PM

I feel you on that one, cant wait to be done with this

"go for it"
Saturday, February 19 2011 at 07:00 PM

with regards to? retaking?

Monday, November 01 2010 at 08:00 PM

Thanks boner, I am very fortunate and grateful for my acceptances. Someone is pulling for me up there. BTW what is your top choice?

@Syrianguy33
Wednesday, January 12 2011 at 07:00 PM

Hey Syrianguy33, I have no idea what my top choice right now. It's still too early to narrow it down to just one school. Money is also likely to be a factor. That being said if any T1 were to magically drop an acceptance on me I would run jump and skip all the way to wherever that law school was located.

Tuesday, September 21 2010 at 08:00 PM

Thanks and congrats to you as well on your acceptances and scholarships! Are the schools some of your top choices?

Wednesday, January 12 2011 at 07:00 PM

Hey JD, I just have no idea!

asu?
Wednesday, December 08 2010 at 07:00 PM

How did you here from asu

Saturday, December 11 2010 at 07:00 PM

What! 2 for 2 so far. Up next: Villanova.

@dink3500
Wednesday, January 12 2011 at 07:00 PM

ASU sent a letter via snail mail.

@spankatola
Wednesday, January 12 2011 at 07:00 PM

True you are batting 1.000. Though if I get into Villanova I would literally give birth to some kittens.

Saturday, December 11 2010 at 07:00 PM

I chose it because Villanova is the name of the restaurant where I proposed to my wife. It's been lucky for me and why shouldn't it be for you? Also, thanks on the congrats, and Nebraska's my top choice, but I can't commit there until I know where my wife has been accepted. I submitted the deposit to keep my seat.

Greetings
Wednesday, February 09 2011 at 07:00 PM

I'm a fan. You truly had me chuckling! TY for sharing your application journey. Best,

@everyone
Wednesday, January 12 2011 at 07:00 PM

Thanks for all the support! Hopefully a few surprises still await!

Being considered
Tuesday, December 14 2010 at 07:00 PM

is better than a flat out rejection. Unfortunately for me all those "being considered" ended up as wait-list or rejections. Hopefully you will have better luck. I can't wait to see where you end up.

@DCHopeful1
Wednesday, January 12 2011 at 07:00 PM

Hey DC, Yeah, I expect dings from the remaining schools. But I would jump on the wait-lists like a fat kid jumps on cake because the 4 schools left are my favorites. Thanks for the well wishes. So do you know where you'll be come fall?

Pepperdine
Wednesday, January 12 2011 at 07:00 PM

Hey BL, did you find out pepperdine through snail mail? I didn't see you mention in your blog that you went DR so I wasn't sure.

@Glasshalfull
Wednesday, January 12 2011 at 07:00 PM

Hey Glass, On the status checker over a week ago it said decision sent. This seemed to be consistent with both the positives and negatives from that school, so I chose not to comment on it till it arrived in the mail. Then today it finally got here.

Saturday, December 11 2010 at 07:00 PM

Villanova still in the running, woot. The wife is joining a masters program in accounting at either Nebraska or Va Tech. So it's Nebraska or Elon for me. I'll know soon.

@Spankatola
Wednesday, January 12 2011 at 07:00 PM

Ah very cool! We'll hopefully your two choices for where you want to live coincide nicely. Good Luck! And yeah Villanova is still in the running! lol.

Tuesday, September 21 2010 at 08:00 PM

Thanks have you decided on the school you will be attending?

@Nicewiththejd
Wednesday, January 12 2011 at 07:00 PM

No, there are still few schools that I'm waiting to hear from that will make the difference. I might plop down the money to reserve my seat but I'm not sure. Just going to mull it over a couple of days.

field of dreams
Monday, January 31 2011 at 07:00 PM

haha yeah what a great movie. you ever read the book it is based on? amazing.

Monday, November 01 2010 at 08:00 PM

Thanks boner , how is your cycle coming along?

Relief
Wednesday, December 08 2010 at 07:00 PM

It's a big relief I am so happy to be done.

@Mike
Wednesday, January 12 2011 at 07:00 PM

Hello Mike! I was wondering when you'd make an appearance. Glad to see you! Stanford is a great school, but it just wasn't for me. I withdrew rather than waste their time. Anyways, where's your profile? I was hoping to check it out and compare schools.

Thanksss =)
Tuesday, November 23 2010 at 07:00 PM

Thanks for the bday wishes! WINNNINGGG. lol.

@Cali
Wednesday, January 12 2011 at 07:00 PM

So you watched the youtube clip huh? lol Hope you had fun today! Night!

Saturday, December 11 2010 at 07:00 PM

Damnit!

@Spankatola
Wednesday, January 12 2011 at 07:00 PM

LOL, it's ok bro. You still have 3 schools to bet on if you want!

field of dreams pt. 2
Monday, January 31 2011 at 07:00 PM

the book is called shoeless joe - same basic plot as the movie but very well written...definitely a very 'golden era' american novel.

barry
Monday, January 31 2011 at 07:00 PM

just real quick also, do you know what the lrap is like for barry? im gunning for bigLAW but thought id just check what exit options are. i was really hard worker in undergrad, so ill probably be top 10% there.

@moonlightgraham
Wednesday, January 12 2011 at 07:00 PM

Mooney, Your point is well made. Being concerned long term about financial prospects versus overall costs is not to be ignored. Luckily I have made an arrangement to keep the Empire out of my hair permanently. I'm pretty certain that if I plug away and work hard, I'll be in good shape.

Saturday, December 11 2010 at 07:00 PM

It's Nebraska for me after all. Nothing else works as well. Plus they have an lrap, and I've been aiming at public interest all along anyway. So, do any of your 4 remaining accepted/pending schools do anything for you? Going to wait and retake? Your posts don't suggest you're in a tremendous hurry, but you've been out of undergrad as long or longer than I have, and I'm definitely hearing the clock tick.

@spankatola
Wednesday, January 12 2011 at 07:00 PM

*starts loudly yelling the ToysRus song from the mid-80's. Lol, I'm not sure, but I'll figure something out. I might have a few more options open than I've mentioned. I'm still not at the worried point just yet.

Thanks
Tuesday, December 14 2010 at 07:00 PM

If nothing else you made me smile :0)

Thanks alot...
Friday, December 24 2010 at 07:00 PM

.... You are really a good person and you made me cycle a lot easier. If you're ever in boston and need a place to crash just hit me up.

How many times
Tuesday, December 14 2010 at 07:00 PM

did you reload my profile. Thanks for following me. Have you decided where you are going? Best of luck :~)

@unc0mm0n1
Wednesday, January 12 2011 at 07:00 PM

I'm glad to have made things easier. And next time I fly out to Boston I will try to get a hold of you. Give em Hell!

@DChopeful1
Wednesday, January 12 2011 at 07:00 PM

I actually landed as #2000 on yours randomly the other day, so that was rather cool. lol As for schools, I dunno. I'll just have to have a few glasses of bourbon and probably shoot some starts at a board with life options. ;)

One thing to add
Tuesday, December 14 2010 at 07:00 PM

to your list of LSAT info. I have said this many times on many peoples pages. Blueprint prep course offers an on line course, both live and on demand. I didn't have time to take an actual course due to work and vacation schedule so I did the on demand course. They give you an e-mail address so you can ask questions. I even got a response on a holiday. (I realize this doesn't help you out now) Next, I'm glad you were my 2000 visitor. I looked and was at 1999. I debated making myself the 2000 but decided that was bad form <;~)>

@dchopeful1
Wednesday, January 12 2011 at 07:00 PM

Huh, that Blueprint site you just mentioned I have never heard of before now. lol.

Tuesday, September 21 2010 at 08:00 PM

Thanks!

Congrats!
Tuesday, December 21 2010 at 07:00 PM

Ave Maria is your best bet. I wish you the best!

@sreigert
Wednesday, January 12 2011 at 07:00 PM

Hmmm. I'll have to keep that in mind. Why would you suggest ave?

Response
Tuesday, December 21 2010 at 07:00 PM

Hello There, I responded to your inquiry, as a PM, that is now waiting for you! Let me know if you have any further questions.

Thank You
Monday, November 29 2010 at 07:00 PM

Many thanks to you Bonerland! I'm very excited. My cycle started out shaky but I feel blessed. Good luck to you and best wishes!

Tuesday, September 21 2010 at 08:00 PM

Thanks!!!I did however decide not to attend. CWRU is ranked higher and works out to be cheaper with the scholly they gave me.

Friday, June 17 2011 at 08:00 PM

I hadn't even given Emory any real consideration. I had heard that they weren't very generous with the $$. I will definitely give them a 2nd look though. Behind Minnesota and IUB, they might be a viable 3rd choice if accepted. Thanks.

hey
Friday, February 09 2007 at 07:00 PM

What's changed since 2008? A lot I guess. :)

Thanks
Saturday, September 17 2011 at 08:00 PM

Thanks for your information. What school are you attending?

Wednesday, January 12 2011 at 07:00 PM

Hey Cuban, Check your pms. Good Luck!

Tuesday, August 02 2005 at 08:00 PM

I just had to say that in a world of what could be "boring" posts on the law school process, you entertained me beyond belief. I hope you are rocking out at law school wherever you decided to attend. Most of these schools weren't worthy of your awesomeness.
