Extracurriculars are kinda meh tbh. Awesome PS and LORs though. And pretty unique circumstances too explaining my interest in health law/public interest.

Additional info & updates

As for being a non-traditional applicant, I've overcome some significant hardships causing me to leave school for about 5 years. But I'm back in school now, and my grades are better than ever. There is a remarkable difference between before I left and after I returned. If you discount my first year of undergrad I've got above a 4.0. GPA addendum to explain.

12/13
Accepted to Chapman via phone call with full scholarship.

12/20
Accepted to Creighton via online status check.

12/21
Accepted to SLU via email. Saw that my status changed to 'decision rendered, letter to follow' on 12/20

1/3
Email from SLU with scholarship info. 93k over 3 years

1/8
Rejected from ASU via email

1/10
Rejected from University of Georgia via status check. They were kinda snarky tbh

1/11
Accepted to American via email

1/17
Loads happened the past few days. Rejected from Berkeley :( and waitlisted at U of Arizona. In at UC Hastings (no $$ yet but fingers crossed. I saw that other people got acceptances and $$ at the same time so maybe I didnt get anything).
In at Seton Hall and also accepted to USD!! Will probably try to negotiate $$$ from USD.

1/22
Saw online that my status changed for Baylor. Called the admissions office and found out that I was accepted! Official packet should come via mail soon. I am super happy with how things have turned out so far!!!

1/29
Got my official acceptance package from Baylor. Wasn't expecting any $$, so was pleasantly surprised I received some. Also was accepted to Loyola Chicago with an awesome scholarship. I love the program, but as a Southern California native, I am a bit intimidated by the current weather...

2/6
Rejected from BU- which is not really a surprise. And waitlisted at Davis!!

2/18
Rejected from UWashington and UCLA via email on 2/15
Email from Houston saying I was waitlisted.

2/20
Checked the UCI status check and saw that I was waitlisted. I expected to be rejected, so this was a nice surprise!

4/3
A lot's happened in the past month. I negotiated a scholarship increase from USD (63k-->96k). And an unsolicited scholly increase from Georgia State (2k for the first year --> 2k per year).

It was a difficult decision (and it came down to USD and Chapman) but in the end, I'm happy with my decision to attend Chapman. I just couldn't turn down a full ride, and I really liked the atmosphere of the school and the professors. The 2.9 GPA stipulation did make me pause for a bit (and the fact that ~50% of people lose their scholarships) but that's about the first year median GPA.

You were admitted into some very well ranked programs so far with good scholarships. Best of luck getting into more prestigious programs which are the best way to maximize ROI.
