Extra Curricular Information

Lots of ECs and summer WE.

My soft factors are good, but there's a reason they're called "soft" factors.

Additional info & updates

Degree-granting GPA messed up from one lousy semester (would be about 3.5 otherwise). Wrote an addendum, but not sure how it will pan out. Decent cumulative GPA because I took 49 credits part-time in high school. Risky PS. Sent a different PS to Iowa because they asked their own question.

Fairly well bombed the LSAT, considering my practice scores were in the high 170s, but I couldn't afford to take it again. That's life.

Fee waivers approved at Penn, IU, and Uof M. Didn't apply for more waivers because I didn't want to risk applications at other schools being past their deadlines.

One final LOR (#3) arrived late and was sent from LSDAS around 3/7.

IOWA
Full tuition scholarship. (Offer arrived a week after the decision.) Phone call 2/22 from student, email 2/23, acceptance letter received 2/24, but dated 2/21. Sent first deposit.

INDIANA
$24,000 merit scholarship split over three years. (Not great, but their viewbook says the best fellowships are given out in early Feb. Whoops.) Received an email edition of "Indiana Law Annotated" 3/7, so I figured I had been accepted. Acceptance letter received 3/8, but dated 3/3. Letter included a handwritten note from the assistant dean. Declined acceptance.

MINNESOTA
Acceptance letter dated 3/25. Still waiting on financial aid. Sent first deposit.

GEORGETOWN
Status changed to 'Decision' on 3/31, but their site still said the last update was on 3/29. Letter arrived 4/4.

CHICAGO
Rejection letter dated 3/30.

NYU
Rejection letter dated 4/13.

PENN
Rejection letter sent to permanent address.

HARVARD
Rejection letter dated 5/4.

i'm in the same boat on that one. getting that score back was like a punch in the gut compared to how i'd been doing in practice tests, but like you said, that's life. we should still be fine at minnesota, but with how long it's taken for me, i'm no longer very confident.
