Note to those wondering about my decision. I am pleased to say that I am attending Columbia and couldn't be any happier with my choice. That being said I did turn down significant amounts of money at other schools. I came to the conclusion that my personal financial situation was such that I could safely make that choice. My decision however should not be read as indication that Columbia is always the right choice or even that it is often the right choice, I dont know what the answer to that question is. Money is a big issue on the one hand and Columbia is very strong on the other. I could totally see the arguments for taking the money and running. In the end do what you think is best and try not to look back, it will all work out somehow. good luck!

5/1 Harvard waitlist, I'll ride it just because my stubborn pride is going to force them to reject me to get rid of me. That being said deposit paid at Columbia, who would have thought.

4/3 emailed award from Columbia, got the snail mail the day before, quite a generous amount for them I understand, I did send them my NYU award, I think the scales are tilting

3/30 straight reject to yale, oh well, still worth the hundred to try

3/8 Deans Award at NYU 62,500 or 75,000 if I do PI. my them some pretty numbers.

3/2 Deans Scholarship at Cornell. Wow...

2/14 Last minute app to Yale, I mean its a joke but with the luck I have had thus far, I would regret not giving it a go :)

2/10 Waitlist at Uchicago, psshh they made me pay to apply, already over it :) oop add a Penn waitlist about an hour and half later. C'est la vie cant get them all, would have considered it but it does help narrow the list down some.

2/1 UCLA and palm trees came a calling... as did a hold from Northwestern via a series of weird hoops I had to jump through.

1/27 Letter from Columbia. Unreal, unbelievable unreal. The chances it would give me. I dont even know. Unreal.

1/9 Email from Berkeley cannot believe how fast!!! Would love to go but sooo expensive. argh. We'll see how it shakes out I suppose! Great to be able to choose it though!!!!

1/4 AHHHHH got into Michigan, so AWESOME, wanted go there since since since... forever!!!!

12/21 Got an email to call Dean Richard at UVA and she told me I was accepted, will wait for the packet to confirm the scholarship amount but I'm super excited, cant wait to visit! I keep hearing how great it is!!!

12/19 in via Email at Cornell with an invitation to apply for a Dean's scholarship. So excited!!! Visited and loved it, can definitely see myself getting enticed to attend!!!

12/15 got the call from NYU today, of course I missed it, but the message was very nice and I suppose I can officially be ecstatic!!!

12/13 email from BC with a video a very nice touch! Love Boston so going to school there is pretty appealing!! Also got decision letter sent from NYU, cautiously optimistic!!

12/2 Little envelope through snail mail accepting me to Georgetown!!! yay yay wanted to go there since I was in high school!!!

12/1 things seem to happen in spurts. Northwestern interview. Harvard complete. Chicago Complete. Michigan status checker. All today.

11/21 bout had a stroke, complete at Columbia and under review at Harvard...

11/16 "application under review" at NYU..... (not sure when it went complete)

11/14/11 In at Duke via PT, cannot express how jazzed I am to be accepted to a t-14 school!!!!!

11/10/11 William and Mary status still says complete/Will send decision by April 1st but under mailings it says Congratulations! Admit packet mailed! I'm quite pleased haha
