Additional info & updates

2/1/08-Don't trust LSDAS. It says UH app due 2/15, but that's only for FT. UH website says PT app due today. So rushing to complete personal statement and app before midnight. Took vacation this week to cram for LSAT now have to go up to work because my PC doesn't have floppy disk drive. Just how I wanted to spend the day before I take LSAT.

2/2-Real LSAT much harder than practice LSAT for some reason. Advice: don't take prep class, borrow books from friend in law school who paid for same class last year then study butt off like I did and score 3 pts higher on the test than he did :)

2/6-STCL email saying recv'd app

2/12-STCL email reporting problem w/ my file. Oh crap, call LSDAS and lo and behold it's just my LSAT score they're waiting on. sheesh.

2/22-got LSAT score earlier than I thought I would via email. Not great score but much higher than I thought it would be, so I got that going for me.

3/7-STCL email app complete. UH online status not changed from app recv'd. UH was updating status once a week on Mondays but now it seems they're doing updates every other week.

3/28- STCL email, I got waitlisted. really? Ok I guess I get that because timing of app and Feb LSAT. It won't keep me from anxiously checking my mail, email, and online status everyday though.

3/31- UH status changed to 'in review'. Ok UH work with me here. Only review my LSAT which meets median score for PT class and not my GPA, which doesn't. Wouldn't that be funny if UH took me but not STCL. I have the healthcare and business background that may appeal more to UH than STCL. Hey, a guy can dream can't he? My luck and prediction: waitlist purgatory.

4/11- UH change status updated on 3/31 to 4/7. Why on 4/11 does it change to reflect update on 4/7? I don't know, but the more things change the more they stay the same, file still in review.

5/12- STCL online status check changed to decision mailed

5/13- email from UH telling me it's "highly unlikely" that the admissions comm. will be extending any more offers, but they'll keep the waitlist nonetheless. Come on STCL!

5/14-letter of acceptance from STCL in mail. $300 deposit due in five days. What a relief that this process is over.

Sorry to hear; pretty surprising. I believe the deadline is 1 April or 7 April. I don't remember off hand.

Ughhhh I got wailisted too! Of course, your grades and lsat are a little higher than mine, but we are in the same ballpark. How are you feeling about it? I tried to email South Texas for some info on the Waitlist and they didnt email me back. Hmmm...

I applied full time almost everywhere. But, yeah, I asked them a bunch of questions and they said absolutely nothing. I wonder how many people usually get called off their waitlist. I'm going to assume it's pretty high since South Texas is a backup school for a lot of people. Who knows...
