02-08-07 - Waitlisted at UMD. Came in a regular envelope that was supposed to have a self-addressed envelope enclosed for me to send my response back, but alas...no such envelope could be found.

02-17-07 - Received deferrel letter dated 2-9-07 from Ohio State. Based on the underlined section of the letter, it appears that I will have to ask for another academic LOR. I'm really hoping to get in though since my fiance has been accepted to the School of Social Work there. Of course, if any of the other schools would accept the both of us...

02-20-07 - Waitlisted at Kansas...I am freaking out now.

3-27-07 - Status checker for OSU changed to "Decision." I sent them a new LOR from a great professor, but we'll see what the result is.

4-2-07 - The result sucks. OSU rejected me in a letter dated 3/29.

4-18-07 - Waitlist for South Carolina. If you have been accepted to South Carolina and do not intend on going there, I humbly request that you withdraw your application to make my chances of actually going to law school that much better...

4-26-07 - Well, I end my cycle 0-1-4. Waitlisted at my alma mater. I pray to the Gods of Law School that someone sees me as a potentially great student. I promise I'll be good.

5-16-07 - Received a call today from the Director of Admissions at Kansas asking if I was still interested in them and whether or not they were my number 1. Honesty got the better of me and I had to be a bit ambiguous about my answer, but barring some major moves elsewhere, I would probably accept an offer if it is given. Regardless, I hope this movement on the part of Kansas means I will be going to law school!

6-1-07 Well, it's been a huge week. After not getting in anywhere, I have been accepted off of two waitlists! Primarily because of the proximity and my fiancee, I will be attending the University of South Carolina in the fall! Sorry Jayhawks, you're awesome even though.

If you don't mind me asking what was the nature of your email conversation? I am trying to come up with some kind of way to boost my chances to get in off the waitlist. Any ideas?
