Lewis and Clark BSing me!

At first I thought that it was an acceptance letter but then I read that if I didn't reply by Friday that they would withdraw my name from consideration. I thought that this was weird and so I called them up. After all, what kind of deferral letter is that? After having to call several times to get through, I spoke with someone at admissions and was told that I am currently deferred but that the e-mail was asking if I wanted to be on the waitlist. At that point I got pissed and told the adcomm that I wanted to withdraw. He told me to send them an e-mail stating this and I hung up. I no longer care if it was a deferral or a waitlist, even though it had clearly turned into a waitlist during our conversation. I just wish they would have been more up front instead of dicking me around. They could have just said that I was waitlisted in the e-mail. They have no respect for their applicants, especially ones that should have been admitted. I even saw someone on LSN with the same numbers as mine get admitted with 5K a year. Earlier in the cycle I sent them an e-mail saying that they were my top choice and their response was, "we'll add that to your file". Screw them! They sent me a fee waiver and then mistreated me the whole time. I wouldn't choose them over USD so it was a moot issue anyways. I just wanted a decision because at one time they were my first choice. That's no longer the case because I finally see who I'm dealing with. Anyways, my e-mail was different since it said that I could be admitted anytime from "next week to late August". Sounds like a pretty long deferral to me. I can't believe that a school who sent me a fee waiver would treat me so poorly. Here I thought USD and SCU were bad for not letting me know that I was complete. Well, at least they both accepted me as opposed to Lewis and Clark which never gave me a straight answer. Even when I called the adcomm said that I was both deferred and waitlisted. Damn they must be stupid!

I received an email last night. I sent them an LOCI last Wed. so they probably got it on saturday. I really wanted to go out there and visit the law building....I would have probably held off on the letter had I known it was going to be such a quick response. I've been to Eugene before, but never to the actual campus. Have you visited?

Good luck w/U of O - I'm sure they'll take you off the waitlist soon. I recently visited the campus - very impressive facilities, staff and ENR program, just a little leary of spending 3 more years in a university-dominated town (I did my grad work at UCSB). Istanbul is fabulous - I was there and in Ankara during my time with WWF and would love to return someday.

thanks - what kind of law are you interested in? would you consider scu or denver over uo if you got in? i haven't visited either campus. would you go to uo over l&c? i sent l&c my loci a long way back and haven't been updated from them for awhile - their admissions strategy is so cryptic for me - making me nervous :(( i do think uo will finalize their decisions (including wl) sooner than some of the other schools - so hang in there!

hit me up if you want to take a look at the LOCI I sent...it's nothing spactacular, but I know it's always nice to see an example of something that worked at one point.

i was notified by snail. i knew i was in trouble when i read about lsn people receiving calls about their continued interest/wl, so i am sure you have a pretty good shot if you're willing to stay in limbo a little while longer. i would absolutely love to get settled in the new location beginning of summer. i wish we could convince the schools of a swap ;) anyway, i have to believe there is a good reason for the way things have turned out and i'm very willing to give eugene a shot. i had a great tour but such a cursory visit to eugene as a whole - i really got no good sense of the surrounding countryside. this may sound ridiculous but probably not if you are another dog lover, but what are your criteria for 'dog-friendliness'? coming from vienna, austria, i was spoiled by a ton of off-leash space, dog-friendly establishments (indoor and out) and dog-friendly public transportation. my dog is part greyhound so i am only happy when (among other things), i can see him doing his breed thing and outrunning the pack or trail-running through seemingly endless forest. how do these categories fare in eugene?

I sent it my LOCI like 3 days after I got my waitlist letter. So they have that.

I Hope So!

I would love to see you there! Right now it looks as if I'm headed to Creighton but I am definitely waiting out the waitlists at Oregon and Pacific.

Who did you email when you emailed them to let them know you were still interested in attending Oregon?
