Additional info & updates

I've decided to attend W&L, so I'm withdrawing all of my applications from the schools that I've been accepted to or waitlisted to make space for those who would like to go there. I'm sure if I hung out on the waitlist, I would probably get accepted to one or two others but unfortunately my situation won't allow for that. Good luck to everyone else in their endeavors and hello to the W&L class of 2013, I'll be seeing you soon.

Thanks to a commentor on my page who expressed exactly what I was thinking about LSN profiles. Either everyone on this website who's only performed extremely well on the LSAT has created a profile or people are lying about their numbers, which I think is ludicrous. This website was designed and developed to give people an idea of how each cycle plays out and it does everyone a disservice to put innacurate information on here, or create a profile that doesn't have any information at all. Don't create a profile to blow your own head up or show everyone how great you are, create one to help others understand how the cycle is playing out. Nuff said.

All scholarships are over a three year period. Arkansas is in state tution w/scholarship and Valpraiso is with a 3.0 GPA.

07/15/09 - Took June LSAT and bombed because I was drugged up on painkillers due to knee surgery. Could have cancelled and rescheduled but was stupid enough to let it ride. Retaking the September test but just found out that I'm scheduled for another knee surgery at the end of August. Life just isn't fair. I think this time I'll skip my pain meds for that day and the day prior. I really don't want to have to wait for a later LSAT exam since I want to get my apps in early. Don't ever grow old, it sucks.

09/11/09 - Remember this day and the lives lost in New York City, Virginia and Pennsylvania.

9/15/09 - Decided to hold off on knee surgery until after the Sept LSAT. Going into the testing sight without pain meds and hopefully more focused. Wish me luck.

9/28/09 - Test day has come and gone and I still don't feel more confident about my chances of getting into certain schools than I did previously. Hopefully every other Sept LSAT test taker feels better about their results than I do. Darn you Analytical Reasoning!! I guess we'll find out in October.

10/18/09 - Results from the Sept LSAT came back, a miserable 151. Oh well, better than my last performance. Submitted my applications to the following, but still waiting on my LOR's to get to LSAC:

Indiana University - Reach
University of Illinois - Reach
University of Conneticut - Reach
Washington and Lee - Serious Reach
University of Houston - Reach
SMU - Reach
Baylor - Serious Reach

I thought I'd submit early applications to all of my reach schools to get the pain overwith and submit for my more likely schools in November after I apply for more fee waivers. Good luck to everybody this cycle.

10/19/09 - Went complete at SMU, Baylor, IU, WL, UH, UA. Got confirmation e-mails from SMU, Baylor and UH. Hadn't gotten anything yet from IU or WL. Don't know if that's good or bad. Got a receipt confirmation e-mail from UH but informing me that LSDAS hadn't sent them my report they requested yet. What's that about?

10/20/09 - My second letter of recommendation arrived at LSAC and is being sent out.

10/22/09 - All applications complete. Now just a waiting game.

10/28/09 - I've managed to procure a lot of fee waivers. Most have either been free applications or e-mail waivers approved from the schools with requests to submit an app after CRS review.

11/14/09 - Wash and Lee status checker said decision mailed out on 11/09. I was expecting to get the first of my expected rejections. Got my letter in the mail today and opened it expecting the standard "We regret to inform you" and was totally shocked by an "I am pleased to inform you" acceptance. To say that my jaw hit the floor is an understatement. Hopefully the rest of my cycle goes as well.

11/20/2009 - E-mail from Baylor with a rejection. Not really disappointed or upset. Applied to every Texas school (except UT) that I was even slightly interested in attending. Wasn't looking forward to being stuck in Waco for 3 years.

12/04-2009 - Had some medical problems I've been dealing with since before Thanksgiving so haven't had an opportunity to stay on top of my applications. However, got an e-mail on 12/03 from KU asking for more information and responded back. Checked their status checker and letter was sent out today. Not sure if that is a good or bad thing. Checked VU today and I guess I've been accepted or at least that's what the status checker says. Haven't received an official e-mail, letter or call.

01/07/2010 - Accepted at KU on 12/10 and sent an application to UA on 01/03 and W&M 01/06. Not likely to get accepted to W&M but decided that if I'm willing to go to W&L, then W&M is still an option. Getting frustrated however because I haven't heard anything from any schools in a while and many of my applications aren't even in review yet through status checker or have been in review since the beginning of December. I'd like to hear something soon, even if it is a reject.

1/13/2010 - Went complete at UA and W&M yesterday. Most likely I'll hear something back from UA shortly but I'm not holding my breath for W&M.

1/25/2010 - Ding from BU over the weekend. No surprise there. Now I'm waiting on the ding from WU. Don't know what's taking them so long to end my misery. Status checker says complete on 11/17/09 and hasn't changed since. Don't even think they're going to bother to review my package before they lay the smackdown.

1/26/2010 - Waitlisted by UA. Kind of confused by that one. Really only applied because they sent me an e-mail requesting me too with an application waiver. I guess I'll send them an e-mail sometime this week withdrawing my application.

1/27/2010 - Status changed to "Application Complete" on WU status checker. I'm hoping and praying that means that I've been accepted since WU hasn't given any rejects out yet and don't seem to do so until later in the season. We'll see.

1/28/2010 - KU status checker said scholarship info mailed today.

1/30/2010 - Waitlisted by UIUC. I'm just shocked that it wasn't a rejection. Probably won't be able to wait long enough to get off of the waitlist though.

2/1/2010 - UH status checker changed to "File Under Review" today. Went from File Complete from 12/2 to 12/15 and now this. Not sure what all of that means.

2/2/2010 - Sent e-mails withdrawing from UP and IUI. Neither one of these schools were sincere options and both were taking way too long to review my application. I was complete at UP early December and IUI early November with no movement at all.

I appreciate your honesty with your numbers. Apparently you and I are the only ones who are logged on the site right now who scored in the 150's. Either everyone else is ivy league material or they're a bunch of liars. I'll go with the latter. But congrats on your acceptances! I'm still waiting to hear...
