April 15th
After a lot of thought, I've decided to attend Suffolk in the fall. I could not be more excited! :) good luck to everyone in the 09-10 cycle!

April 7th
IN AT SUFFOLK!!! I can't believe it!

March 31st
Just got back from a weekend of touring schools. I was less than impressed with Duquesne/Pittsburgh and so I am now deciding between Hofstra and Quinnipiac. Thoughts?

March 14th
Waitlisted a couple of days ago from Suffolk. Kind of surprised. Everyone told me I was a shoo-in! Oh well. Now the fun part begins - making the big decision! It's between Quinnipiac, Duquesne, and Hofstra. Any thoughts??

Feb 22nd
Waitlisted by Villanova via email / online status checker. Kind of surprised... I expected a flat-out rejection, but I'm still bummed. I had a streak going, Nova!

Feb 17th
STILL nothing from Suffolk and Villanova! The online status check at Nova finally says that I'm "in review", but who knows how long that will take - I'd been "complete" for six weeks!!! Anyone in at Suffolk with similar numbers??

Feb 5th
20k a year from NESL. Still waiting on Nova and Suffolk. I'm getting so impatient! I just want to know one way or the other so I can start narrowing my list.

Feb 2nd
In at Duquesne! No word on any scholarship $$, but I don't even care. I'm so happy!

Feb 1st
Received my letters from Loyola New Orleans. $17,500 a year.... might not be enough to bring me to NOLA, though! Also in at Roger Williams with a half tuition scholarship!

January 28th
What a day! In at Loyola via online status checker, $12,000 a year from Quinnipiac, and $23,000 a year to go to Western New England!

January 27th
In at New England Law | Boston!

January 26th
In at Quinnipiac! I can't believe it! Waiting to hear their scholarship offer.

January 21st
In at Hofstra! SO Excited! I received an Honors Scholarship for $5k/year as well!

Congrats on the acceptance at Duquesne! How were you notified?

I got a letter in the mail! Oddly enough they sent it to my house, not to my college address. But still no word on a scholarship! Are you going to Duquesne in the fall?

Congrats on Duquesne! That scholarship is nice as well. If you don't mind me asking was that need or merit based? I am asking because we both have similiar numbers and I am hoping to get into Duquesne this cycle. If I could get in and get a nice scholarship that would be even better..lol.

Duquesne Scholarship

Congrats on Duquesne. I've been accepted as well, but was hoping to receive some scholarship money. Did your scholarship info come with your acceptance letter? I'm starting to get a little worried.

Hofstra or Quinnipiac

Both decent schools with Hofstra a tier 2 school and Quinnipiac a tier 3. I think you would have a better student experience with Quinn. than Hofstra as their class size is smaller. It will be harder to find employment after Quinn. though but they are up and coming so it may be worth the risk. It all depends on what type of class structure you work best at..and whether you would like to live in bustling New York or small town CT. Interestingly what about Duquesne turned you off? I will not be going there either but I was curious as to your reasons (mine is more or less because my wife does not want to live in Pittsburgh for three more years after she graduates from CMU)

thanks and congrats again

Nice job getting into Suffolk! I think your best decision is to go wherever you feel comfortable to practice law. The schools you are deciding between are great schools for their particular state with little to no possibility of mobility outside of that state after graduation. That is a big reason why I am leaning towards not going to Duquesne because a degree there would mean I would probably be practicing law in Pittsburgh and my wife wants to move away from here after she finshes grad school at CMU. If staying in Mass. to practice law is what you want; Suffolk is your best choice. If you are wanting to expand yourself along the East coast you may want to give Hofstra a look. Either way remember..you are going to law school and that is what matters!! Good Luck!
