Penn Law 2012!

---

Sharp upward grade trend as a result of switching out of a hard science major into something a little less math-oriented but still "analytical."

I really think my PS is what knocked me over the edge at Penn. I wrote about my time abroad where I was more than a student-tourist, which is usually a hackneyed and tired strategy. However, I used my personal statement to answer questions typically found in college applications: did you experience something that challenged your beliefs? How did you overcome a hardship? etc. I took a risk in expressing a political opinion, but it was one that finds a favorable audience in much of academia.

I did NOT write a GPA addendum.

Good luck to everyone!

Update 3/11: Just got scholarship notification from WUSTL. I sent an email withdrawing from them several months ago, but I'm not sure they got the message! Is there a special way to withdraw? I guess I'll have to give them a call tomorrow during business hours.

Nice work getting into Penn. Reading about your PS was weird--it exactly describes my PS, even down to talking about a political position that is popular among academics. The only difference was that I did not talk about hardship.
