***********

Scholarship number is total over 3 yrs.
UIUC, my alma mater, would have been in-state for me because I have a parent in IL (in spite of the fact that I'm in my 30s.)

I talked about my experience and goals in my application. I did not discuss my family.

My GPA addendum was 100 words: basically, I have no good excuse but I'm older and wiser now.

Columbia - fee waiver via email. Absurd.
UT - 'complete' (UT web) before 'received' (LSAC web). I'd applied ED.
UT - email 11/23
UW - usps 12/6 (letter dated 12/2)
NW - interview week of 12/12
NW - email 12/21
IU - usps 12/21 (letter dated 12/14)
IL - phone 01/04, then usps 01/12 (letter dated 01/04)
MI - letter dated 01/12
UT - usps 3/1 (letter dated 2/28)
UT - I sent my deposit in the week of 3/20
UT - Awarded 5k/yr in matching merit aid 4/14 (I emailed to ask for it)

I'm married; my husband's job was a factor in the final decision.

I found this site useful and hope my contribution is helpful to somebody. If you want more info, my lsd id is 'archival.'

Good luck!

Yes, I'm hoping more good news is to come. This is an exciting time! Do you know anything about UIll? Any good titdbits I should take into account?

thanks for the note

I'm excited about the Fordham acceptance also, but I'm also really stressed now. Of the schools I'm in, each has something great about them, but none have just blown me out of the water. As a result, I'm absolutely stressed to the brim, trying to choose between all of these possible life paths. How's it going with your choices? Have you settled on a few favorites yet?

I hear you. Non-relocation is what is making Fordham feel so tempting for me... But at the same time, I was hoping for a change. But I've come to terms with the fact that any of my choices are great, so I can't make a wrong decision. Also, I think there is no "best" choice - so I might just flip a coin. Or more likely, I'll just go with whichever school "feels" best when I visit. Best of luck to you in Texas (wish they would go ahead and make a decision on my app - even if it's a no!)

Congrats

Nice job with UT Austin. Any advice for a similar but worse split for the next cycle?
