ADDITIONAL INFO & UPDATES

I have an MS in Political Science from another state school. My graduate GPA was a 4.0. I have quite a bit of work experience as well, including stints as a staff aide at the governor's office and as a reporter at a biweekly newspaper.

The scholarships listed are yearly amounts.

2-21-08: I got two more acceptance letters today and I am completely overwhelmed with the decision that looms before me. Any advice/suggestions/comments from anyone on any of the schools I've been accepted to?

3-17-08: I am waiting on one last school and then my cycle is complete. I have narrowed it down to University of the Pacific, LSU and FSU. Any thoughts?

3-25-08: Well, I just got back from a road trip to LSU and FSU and found a rejection letter from Florida. It's OK, I'd already decided on FSU anyway.

GO NOLES!!!

Congrats on your acceptances so far...I'm sure its only a matter of time before your GSU acceptance. No money from LSU?

I guess Depaul is making a huge push to raise their numbers because the waitlist was a surprise. Im sure we will both get in later in the cycle and if not it looks like you have some excellent schools to choose from.

Georgia State over LSU. I'm trying to get in-state tuition at GSU otherwise I may go to LSU to avoid 26k/year.

I think that I will have more opportunity at GSU than at LSU. Actually, the idea of not being able to leave Louisiana is a little discerning (LSU teaches civil law). My best friend also lives in Atlanta.

Congrats on your acceptances too - you've got a ton! I agree, some of these schools have no problem holding out on the decisions until the last possible moment. It's driving me nuts. Since you've got a lot of options, which schools are you seriously considering?

you can leave LA if you attend LSU. that is a complete myth.

Congrats to you as well. I tried really hard to like Tallahassee (it's the Capital and home to offices for pretty much every big firm in the state). But I can't get past all the garnet and gold and tailgating in gas station parking lots. I figure I can just work in Tallahassee over the summer if I want to work for one of those firms or a state agency.

Yes most likely unless GW gives some substantial money (unlikely). If one of the T14 bites then I'll have to evaluate again. However, as of now it looks like I am headed to FSU!
