______
to answer questions:
- about texas, i was warned before applying that cornell kids just don't get in. i have no idea why. i guess i should have saved my money. oh well.

- as for michigan, i'm visiting at the end of the month, and i'm still waiting to hear from uva, stanford, harvard, cornell and upenn. i think the rest are pretty much out, and i'll most likely end up at umich since i have a pretty fat chance at the schools i just listed. but hey, ::fingers crossed::

- as for uva vs michigan, anybody have thoughts? i never dreamed i would be choosing really, so i'm super happy but pretty torn. they're both great schools. ahhh....

-for aaron- i think that in terms of how i got into good schools...i'd have to guess that it's all because admissions is a game. maybe they figured if i got in i'd definitely go because i prolly wouldn't get into the other top schools? i have no idea how it works. i wrote my statement about science and law. i took a lot of science classes, but i think there's no excuse for my gpa- i just didn't care enough. i wrote that i'd apply my work ethic that i've had at my job to law school. i also wrote letters of interest and supplements for the schools i got into. i didnt write supplements for the schools i got WL and rejected at. maybe thats why? for uva, i wrote specifically about the animal law program being created this yr. for michigan, i wrote about a paper i'm writing with a columbia law professor and how i'm using the michigan law review. i guess the time spent on letters of interest paid off. that's my guess. and, dawimythnotolo is a combination of the first two letters in the phrase "dancing with myself there's nothing to lose". i love that song, and it makes for a name that's never taken. :p

- i swear my profile isn't fake. i had to fight a little to get into cornell. i went there for undergrad, so i had some idea of how to push. i sent in two letters of interest, spoke with the law professors i know (i took law school classes there when i was an undergrad) and i got to know the ppl in pre-law advising who are tied to the admissions committee (which i didn't know until about two days ago). one of my rec letters is from a cornell law prof- i like to think that helped too. i also volunteer for cornell's alumni network and i just recently gave a talk at cornell about legal assistant positions. i'm pretty sure that my ties there are what pulled me in. i also wrote in the last letter i sent that i had visited uva and umich and that while they were nice, i thought cornell law school was unique and explained why. if u want, message me and i'll try to lay out why cornell is unique and maybe writing a similar letter would help?

and thanks for the congratulations :)
