Thanks! Good luck to you, too. Looks like you'll do just fine.
thanks! seeing as you're only a semi-splitter with numbers better than mine, i'm sure you'll fare well this cycle. good luck!
Thanks for the kind comment. I think I'll be at NYU unless Northwestern sends a little cash my way. I'm sure your cycle will turn out just as well! Best of luck!
Yeah, I did the off-campus interview for NU
thanks- i'm sure you will have a great cycle too!
I feel the same way. It would be cool to take a short train ride home every once in a while - a luxury I didn't have during undergrad. At first, I was also thinking UPenn, being from South Jersey, but I like NYU and Columbia more. Maybe we'll end up at the same school. Good luck!
Yea big money at Pepperdine, still waiting to hear back from 28 more options so we'll see what else turns up in the cycle!
Yeah, my cycle has definitely been a pleasant surprise, to put it mildly. :) Good luck hearing back from everyone!
thanks! looks like you're gonna have some great choices to make soon...best of luck...here's to hearing from columbia soon! :)
Looks like we have similar numbers, and similar application dates to a lot of the same schools. Good luck!
You make a good point about applying to a broader range of schools. Since I am sending my applications off so late this year I decided to only apply to my top choices. I think that if I were to apply to a few safeties and were accepted only at my safeties I would feel as though I had not given my applications my best effort because I applied so late. If I do not get in anywhere, I will apply to a broader range of schools on opening day next year.
I really have no idea where I want to go. I'm one of those people who learned enough about a school to pay $75 application fee, but nowhere near enough to pay $120,000 tuition. So, yeah, I'm definitely holding out until I know all my options
Hey Magnum, Thanks for the congrats!! I'm not really 100% sure yet but yeah, I'll probably end up there. How about you, where is your top choice? You are definitely in at a lot of great schools.
Hey, saw your message. Very similar stats, you're right. Let me know how it goes. Already heard back from UVA. Interested to hear when you hear from Gtown. Good luck.
UVA called. From what I heard they made a lot of admit calls that same day, so I think I lucked out with the timing and that's why it was a quick decision. You went complete a few days later so prob just missed being clumped into that group. Looking at your numbers your odds are good. UVA seems to be real lsat heavy this year. Good luck!
Ya, I applied to more schools, just keeping them hidden till I hear back. Nice LSAT and quite a list of schools there...good luck, but I'm sure you won't need it
I'm sure you'll have lots of good options to choose from when all is said and done!
I did not write a Why Penn... In retrospect, that was probably dumb of me. Apparently it's pretty important, but for whatever reason, I didn't give it much weight at the time.
Thanks! No, I didn't write a "Why Penn" essay, just because I wasn't honestly that excited about the school. Even now, I doubt I'll end up there. By the by, it looks like you could have funded the GDP of Swaziland with your application fees. Holy mackerel! Best of luck to you!
hey magnum - i did interview for northwestern, locally with an alumni. i think it went really well, and is probably why i was put on hold instead of actually waitlisted... their forceful emphasis on work experience is a little intimidating for those of us who want to go to school straight through, so its a bit of a turn off anyway. thanks for the words of congratulations - good luck on your cycle!
Yes, I wrote the Why Michigan essay.
Thanks! I think my softs are strong...I've been out of school for almost 5 years. Good luck with your cycle! You have great numbers, I'm sure you'll be seeing some acceptances soon.
with Vanderbilt!
It might seem that way, but I think it has more to do with my transcript (very low number of credit hours b/c I'm graduating in 3 years) than with a general increase in selectivity. They spooked me into sending an updated transcript, though, so I might still be able to salvage NYU or Penn.
Similar numbers, similar response from Berekeley. I share your semi-pain
Hey there Magnum-- thought I'd drop by just to say that we have similar numbers and completion dates, and possibly similar levels of anxiety, impatience, and suspense... But we'll come out swinging. Best of luck!
on cornell!!! :D
yeah, not writing Why Mich def. did work against me. I wasn't ever going to go there though, so who cares. Congrats on your performance thus far!
Thanks for the congrats! I hope you hear from them soon; the waiting game is horrific. What is your #1 choice?
You definitely have a good shot at Columbia with your index, and there are still a lot of applicants pending from that same timeframe. I was certainly upset when I found out I was waitlisted there, but I do think that NYU will be a better fit for me in the long run. Good luck with the rest of your cycle! Let me know where you end up in August.
congrats on cornell - i went there undergrad - great place and the law school is beautiful
Yes, we are in a very similar situation. I guess I will hear from Duke soon as well . Ugh.
Congrats on NYU. Just got the word today.
On NYU!!! Are you definitely going?
this process took forever for us... nice to see it wrapping up
Good luck on making it in at Columbia! NYU is an awesome option to have if Columbia doesn't come through. As for me, I have not received a KB1. I am expecting the same rejection that everybody else seems to be expecting now, but thats okay. I think UVA is a really good place for me.
Congrats on NYU, it's one of my top choices. Did you ever get an update from Columbia? I was also wondering, what were your softs? Thanks.
congrats on all! Hope 1st semester@nyu went well! taking feb lsat, wondering if you could give me some tips?? thanks!
Yeah, I'm pretty happy with how things have gone so far... though I really wanted Columbia. I'm sure you'll have some great options within the next month or two. Cool, I'm from NJ too, but the southern portion - Go Garden State, Go!
