Fastest acceptance ever from FSU!!! My LSDAS report was sent 11/4 and I got an acceptance letter on 11/12, dated 11/10. I am going to law school!

$$$ at Miami, Dean's Scholarship

$$$ at Case

Invited to apply for full scholarship at FSU, but I had already withdrawn the day I got the letter in the mail with financial aid info and the scholarship invitation.

One more note: UGA is the only school that I feel I wasted my application cash on. They are turning out to be a waste of my time, and I can't see how it takes 6 months to make a decision after I went complete. This, in my opinion, is a de facto rejection for anyone who is not a straight out of undergrad SINK with VERY flexible plans. This, in my opinion, is age and economic discrimination against the older working adults of the world. HMMMM.....

7/4/06-
Withdrew from UGA yesterday. I made the short waitlist but it's not worth my time to change plans this late in the game. Season's over- and I ended up exactly where I thought I'd be at this time- can't quite say go gators, but hey, I got football tickets!

8/7/06-
Just got accepted at UGA via phonecall from Admissions Office. It's a nice coup to finish the season with only one waitlist/withdrawal and the rest acceptances! No reason to go to UGA at this point on 5 days notice, but I would have been happy enough to attend had they let me in 3 months ago.

Good luck to next year's applicants! I'll check this account periodically, so feel free to message me if you have questions about my season.

CONGRATS!

Holy Cow, what a quick decision on FSU! I just applied the other day and am hoping for the same result. How long do they give you before they require a seat deposit, just out of curiosity?

Congrats on the FSU acceptance, that was really quick... I have a question on how Florida notified you of being complete? Did they send you an email or did you have to call them? Good luck with the rest of your applications! Thanks

Thanks

Thanks for the quick response.. A UF acceptance would definitely make the holdiay season a lot better. Are they one of your top choices? Good luck

UF is my top choice

because I don't want to move for practical/logistical/financial reasons. I'd go to any of the school I applied, but I explicitly stated in my PS for UF that it was my top choice and if accepted I would enroll regardless of where else I got in. A little risky, but I have my reasons.

Good Luck

all good reasons... hope all goes well and you get three more years in gainesville!

How much money at Miami?
Tuesday, October 18 2005 at 08:00 PM

Just curious, how much money did Miami offer you? I'm applying there as well and have similar numbers...

Congrats on Miami $$$

Hey congrats on the Miami scholarship! When did you actually receive notification from them of the scholarship in relation to when you got the acceptance? Also, I decided to apply to UF last week as well...maybe I'll see you there! Did you get any scholarship money from them (or when will you find out?)?

PS?

Oh, I was going to suggest that maybe it wasn't a great idea to say you would attend UF regardless of where else you got in. I don't really know how it all works but doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose of them giving you scholarship money to entice you to go there?

UF

UF has very little scholarship money to give, and instate tuition is less than 9K per year. It would cost me that in commission to a real estate agent to sell my house and move anywhere else. Not to say I wouldnt accept a scholarship, but I\\\'m not holding my breath or making my UF attendance contingent on it.

Go Gators!

congrats on getting into UF. I'll be there, too! Any suggestions about what areas to live in? I will be looking for a house to purchase.

have you withdrawn all of your other applications? this little VA in-stater would like to get into GMU.

Congrats on UF

I just have a couple questions for you since I was also admitted at Case. How long ago and how (e-mail, phone call, etc.) did you receive your scholarship offer there? Thanks.

Looks like we just might be in the same class this fall. I'm holding just a little longer to see if anyone offers me any money, but unless something drastic happens I'm going to be at UF with you. Go Gators!

congrats

Are you going to the admitted candidate thing on the 7th of April? Congrats!!

Good Luck at UF, Screw UGA!
Friday, September 09 2005 at 08:00 PM

Yep, it's just ridiculous that UGA can't be bothered to give us ANY kind of notice yet, given that we've both been complete for MONTHS. Assuming they eventually let me in, I'm going to write them a very polite letter telling them that they were where I really wanted to go, but since they couldn't be bothered to give me a decision in a timely matter, that I chose to go to a competitor school instead. The heck with 'em! :)

Off UGA Waitlist already
Friday, September 09 2005 at 08:00 PM

No freakin' clue about what UGA is doing, but I just got admitted after being on their wait list for less than 10 days. It's probably too late for me to change plans to go there (I've already bought a house less than a mile from Emory's campus), but at least I got my clean sweep. So keep checking your status from time to time...
