Additional info & updates

All scholarships listed are per year.

2/10/10 - Accepted at William & Mary (via snail mail)!

2/25/10 - Accepted at Penn State (via email)!

2/26/10 - Waitlisted at Illinois (via email).

3/22/10 - Accepted at Ohio State (via email)!

3/26-3/27/10 - Attended W&M's Admitted Students Weekend. I really loved the campus and the feel of the law school. I really felt like the professors and the students were a community, rather than two distinct groups. W&M is definitely my first choice at the moment.

3/29/10 - Rejected at Texas (via snail mail). Also withdrew from Penn State. After looking at their campus and State College, I wasn't a fan. And I wouldn't go there with the other offers I have.

4/1/10 - Decided on William and Mary today and officially sent in my Statement of Intent this morning!

4/8/10 - Rejected at Duke (via email).

5/11/10 - Waitlisted at Minnesota (via email).

I'm from Charleston, WV. Currently going to school at WVU in Morgantown though.

William and Mary

I really loved it there. I won't be able to make it for admitted students weekend, that is why I went ahead and visited. I highly recommend visiting, you don't really get a feel for a school until you visit; and, having visited quite a few, I got a great vibe from the school and could definitely see myself going there. Good luck with the rest of your cycle!

Congrats!

Congrats on your decision to attend. I'm still leaning toward there, if I go we should meet up! Either way, its a great place to be and I wish you the best!

Belated congrats on your decision to attend. Great to know there will be some good competition.

Woot! W&M

I finally settled on W&M, so I guess I'll be seeing you in the fall. I just realized that everything pointed to W&M. The facilities, grounds, and Williamsburg were awesome. Their 2009 employment stats were just amazing considering the economy, and the W&M name recognition and national reach exceed their already-respectable rank. Plus, all the faculty and administrators were great, and the students I talked to (even the ones at the bottom of the class) loved their experience at the school.

Hey!

Thanks, you too! I had a hard time deciding, but I'm excited about it. I think I want to do some kind of administrative law or lobbying, but I'm not too sure. What about you?

I'm pretty open to any kind of job, as well. I've visited DC a few times and really liked it since I only live a couple of hours away. I'll be glad to be back in Virginia next year, too.
