Screw Akron. I have spoken with students at both schools and Akron has been falling off the map. Average starting salary is down, including bar pass rate. Only thing, CSU has indicated to me that all decisions will be made by the end of May...which probably means us.

I went to CSU's visitation day in like October and they said you must apply to one or the other. If you apply for the SP (and are rejected) and would have otherwise been accepted in the regular PT program, you're out of luck. I skipped out on the SP because it seemed like it was more difficult to get into with people going through special circumstances, not just low numbers.

My first choice is most likely Toledo (Tier 2) with consistent, albeit not the best, bar pass rates over the years. Then CSU and Capital are close seconds. Honestly, I'd be happy with any of them so here's hoping! GL to you, btw!

for reminding me what Jack would do. With the writers strike, I havent had 24 to keep me on the straight and narrow. Thanks for the encouragement. I wish the best for you in getting into Cleve State as well. Maybe even the same part-time division. Did you apply to the LCOP program?

for the encouraging words. I've all but given up on CSU. How hard is it to send a rejection letter and let me move on with life!!

Cleveland is being far more selective now. My application was completed beginning of December and they're still "thinking" about it. Very frustrating. I realize they have a reputation to protect (what with their 90% bar passage rate and all) so I think my app is in the "let her in only if we have to" pile. However, after my miserable experience with the LSAT, I'm wondering if I'd even be successful in law school.

Given what you've researched on other sites, in addition to LSN, what is your honest gut feeling on our chances with CSU? I don't know that you want mine, but maybe I'm just going crazy. I'm leaning on the side of justprayintogetin. And I'm a pretty positive person!!!

It's early yet, but some law school forum posts are going up about the test scores. I get the overall feeling people are disappointed with little or no score increase. Talk of having tests handscored... this could be good news for us. It's still early though.

  • LOL about envelope
  • Thursday, February 28 2008 at 09:44 AM

I received the same envelope and did the same thing! I was like "OMG!! This has to be it!!" But, alas.. no. Why do they keep sending me brochures? Just send me my damn rejection letter. Not like my LSAT score is going to magically go up or anything.

I was very excited, not as excited as I thought I would be though. Its a relief knowing I will be attending law school next fall. I am still wishing you the best in recieving an acceptance. What do you know about Cleve State in respects to the Cleveland legal market.

I am excited, but its hard to explain. Its like a hugh burden was lifted off my chest. If I do attend CSU I do plan to stay in the Cleve area for at least five years. I spoke with an attorney in the Cleve area and she said Cleve-Marshal grades do really well at the large firms out there granted you're in the top 10% Cleve right now is the only option, haha. I will do heavy research beffore I committ to any school.

Thanks!! I visited Tuesday and feel in love...the staff was very responsive. I was able to have an hour meeting with an asst. dean and let them know why I wanted to go to CSU...they handed me my admission packet before I left! The students are on spring break but I loved everything I saw. I visited University of Baltimore today had the reverse experience...staff could care less if I was there! I withdrew today...the school is too large and unresponsive for me. Keep me posted and Good luck!!

I scheduled a tour about 2 weeks ago. I flew in from Arizona and went on a tour with 2 other prospective students. I then asked to speak to one of the admissions staff we met and I plead my case on why CSU was my first choice...they gave me an admission packet before I left. Good Luck!

Cleveland is having an accepted students reception on March 29. Didn't get my invite, you about you?

  • I found out...

reading other profiles. Also, seat deposits are due April 1. Now, it may be that this is for the people the REALLY want and they may throw some leftover scraps to the rest of us. I'm just so upset about this whole process. It seems ridiculous to me that if a school doesn't want you, they should let you know right away. Not make you wait for 5-6 months. I could be getting grad school material ready instead of this.

  • I'm soooo sorry

Damn.. I was really rooting for you at C-M. I gave up on them. I'm not going through this again, either. I'll go to grad school and do just fine. Keep your head up and remember... THEIR LOSS!!!

Sorry about CSU...keep your head high. Its just a numbers game...retake the LSAT & show 'em who's boss! Best of luck...

You are a long-time professional with, I'm sure, many other attributes. Go to Kaplan or something, take test again, and boost that score! Leave nothing to chance... you've got the heart and desire. I wish all the best for you!
