Why W&L?

Hey. Congrats on all your acceptances. Why do you think you got into W&L while you were rejected or waitlisted at lower-ranked schools? Did you do anything different in your app?

Hey we've got close numbers. Congratulations on FSU.

Good Luck

I have similar splits compared to you and was wondering about the WE. Congrats on the acceptances so far.

Who knows...

Who can understand the mysterious ways of adcomms. I taught middle school English for a little over a year after college, and I've been working as a computer tech at a large law firm since then. I had really good LORs -- one from a former prof and one from principal/owner of the school I taught at. I think the LSAT/GPA split and WE puts me in the "Hmmm... we have to think about this one" category for most schools. Any school that lets me is basically ignoring my GPA, so it's really a question of how the individual admissions people respond to the LORs, personal statement, LSAT and WE. I guess some feel that those adequately offset the GPA and some don't.

In the process of trying to add a question mark to the end of that first sentence, I managed to post the same thing twice. Nice. Thanks, everyone, for the nice comments.

Where do you think you will end up (UR decision aside)?

Down to two
Thursday, June 23 2005 at 08:00 PM

Sorry to take so long to respond. I haven't been on the site recently. It's down to two: Catholic or Mason. For a number of reasons, I've decided to stay in DC and attend school in the evening. In GMU let's me in, I'll probably go there. If not, I'll go to CUA.
