5/13/2008: Got a financial award letter from BU a few days ago - they increased my scholarship to $25K/year. I'm still taking the full ride at Temple over this, but it was tough to send the withdrawal e-mail to BU.

5/8/2008: Withdrew from the waitlist at Michigan today. That was a tough one to give up.

4/29/2008: Got a waitlist e-mail from Duke yesterday. I'm pleasantly surprised, but I'm not staying on it. Also withdrew from the UVA waitlist today, and I think at this point I have de facto withdrawn from BU. And my cycle is over! Final record: 5-1-4.

4/28/2008: Duke status checker went to Decision on 4/25. Probably a rejection.

4/18/2008: Waitlisted at Penn. Definitely bummed, but I'm glad I wasn't rejected. I will likely stay on the waitlist here and withdraw from the waitlists at Michigan and UVA.

4/14/2008: Phone call acceptance from BU. I think they tried to call me last week, too, but the number came up as Unknown on my phone and they didn't leave a message, so I didn't think much of it. They also mentioned a $10,000/yr scholarship!

4/9/2008: Sending in the deposit at Temple today! I e-mailed GW, W&M, and BC to withdraw. I can't decide about the Michigan or UVA waitlists, so I'll stay on for now. As far as the schools I haven't heard from yet (Penn, Duke, and BU), I feel like it's silly to withdraw when I paid good money to get a decision one way or the other. I'll see what they say.

4/7/2008: Financial aid letter from GW - $11,000/year in need-based aid.

4/4/2008: Letter from UVA finally arrived: regular waitlist.

3/29/2008: Dinged at Georgetown.

3/28/2008: Status checker went to Decision at UVA. Another ding, I'm guessing.

3/26/2008: OCD leads to obsessive status-checker checking. I went to Decision at Georgetown yesterday, although I think it still said Complete when I logged in after the normal end-of-day update. I predict a ding.

3/20/2008: In at BC! Letter dated 3/18 arrived today.

3/14/2008: Waitlisted at Michigan. A little bummed, but I'm not at all surprised.

3/14/2008: Curiosity got the best of me, and I called BU to make sure that my application was complete. Turns out it wasn't, even though I sent my application two months ago and my undergraduate school sent the Dean's Certification at the same time. The woman I spoke with was very helpful, put me on hold for a while, then took my number and asked if she could call me back. She called me in less than an hour to say my file was now complete and that she was passing it to the Admissions Committee. The moral of the story is: BU applicants, make sure your file is complete if you haven't gotten notification!

2/14/2008: Tried logging into GW's admitted students site this morning and it worked, but I was still skeptical. Then I got the e-mail! Woo hoo!

2/8/2008: In at Temple and selected to be a Beasley Scholar! I live not too far away, so the package dated yesterday arrived today.

2/4/2008: I'm going to law school! In at William and Mary with a pretty sweet scholarship/fellowship.
