i did think about deferring at cornell and reapplying elsewhere, but that just didn't seem very honest to me. and i felt that my financial options might be better with a higher test score, as well. now that it's been a few months since I decided to put off law school, I still feel really good about the decision--I'm actually excited to explore the world a bit before I commit myself to a career in law. i'm even thinking about defering the year I get in, so I go in 2009. Not sure about that yet, though. i'm not sure about the binding nature of other schools' deferral agreements, but I guess the decision whether to defer, attend, or withdraw is totally yours. good luck with everything!
to answer your question, i didn't write the why upenn essay. I'm assuming that they didn't like that!
a different kind of applicant, indeed! we have pretty similar numbers (including grad), so i'll be very interested in how things turn out for you. good luck!
I wish I had gotten myself together enough to score higher than a 170. Good luck on this cycle:)
Good luck this cycle! We have very similar numbers and profiles. What is WGYA at NYU?
How did Berkeley tell you your app was complete?
On Georgetown!
congrats on GULC! just curious, where do you live? j/w about how long it took to arrive at your door. congrats again
Yep, I applied to GULC too. I did Penn ED though, it is my first choice. I'm a bit below the LSAT median so I'm just hoping that ED helps me up a bit...we'll see. They usually get ED decisions out around December 20th. My fingers are perpetually crossed!
and good luck - not that you'll be needing any. it looks like you're going to completely rock this cycle!! :)
It was on TLS not LSD. Just basically one guy who was very angry I'd congratulated him and bitched about me in multiple threads. Not really sure what it was about, I didn't really care. You've always seemed like a nice person and I didn't mind you being curious about me. Good luck on all your apps! :)
Don't let the wait get to you. You have many more acceptances coming your way!
Congrats on Gtown and best of luck with the rest of your cycle! =)
PaulSimon, thank you for being my first comment. I was starting to get lonely.

I think Georgetown is going to be a bell-weather for my cycle, so I'm hoping my result is as good as yours. Best of luck with your cycle, too.
Sorry, forgot to do this while logged in. Now you can click on my profile.
Congratulations on GW! Best of luck for the rest of your cycle -- you have good numbers.
on GW!!! =D

on GW and Georgetown! Funny how the decisions were exactly a month apart. I'm sure you'll have to wait a lot less than that for the rest of your acceptances to come rolling in!
Yup, I will definitely be at one of the GW ASWs!! I hope to see you there! Ps: I saw your blog link on LSD - good luck with your race preparations! I had planned to sign up but online registration had already closed by the time I went to sign up! =(
Congrats on the GW acceptance! I'm in the same boat with the Northwestern decision -- good luck to us both!
Thank you!
Booooo so I was sent an update to check my status for Northwestern, and I was told that I have been "placed on hold, and that I can sign this form to say I'm still interested and all the holds will be re-evaluated in May"-- so that sucks... it pisses me off because I didn't even want to apply there, no interest in Chicago, and they contacted me and gave me a fee waver and told me I meet their profile. I interviewed, and the woman loved me, and then I get put on hold?
With your great numbers and with work experience, I hope you're in for an acceptance! Maybe I'll see you at their ASW :)
you're going to do great this cycle, i don't know what you're worried about. the only thing about your cycle that will suck is the wait.
I'll be there in January...
I'm going to sit in on a class and would definitely be up for grabbing lunch on that Thursday if someone is organizing...
I hope you hear from NW soon. I think we both would love to go there! Maybe you'll hear something this week... I won't be hearing for a while still.
I wish my numbers were as good as yours! I do have some really good soft factors (not to brag, but I think they are decent), but I hope they even look past my numbers. Maybe we'll end up together at NW :)
.. is approaching quickly! Look forward to meeting you then.
Good luck at Northwestern!
I was wondering what your thoughts on the two were, since I'm in a similar situation. Plus, GW will probably give both of us a nice bit of money...
for the comment. I'm going to apply to HYSB because even though it's unlikely, I don't want to be asking "what if" like you said. Good luck with the rest of your cycle!
...for the good wishes re: Penn. And right back atcha!
On Penn!
on Penn!!! I swear, I'm feeling more excited for your cycle than my own (though at this point, that makes a lot of sense).
CONGRATULATIONS!! THAT IS SO WONDERFUL THAT YOU GOT INTO PENN!! I AM ELATED FOR YOU!!!! :D :D
I'm thrilled for you about Penn.
hiya lovebutton:) congrats on penn!!!!!!!! don't worry about NU, with your degrees & WE, should be no problem. i had a weird dream too, but mine was about CLS. my friend and i both got in, which was amazing considering she didn't apply.
Many congrats on Penn! That's uber-exciting. And I'm sure it won't be the last of the good news for you. :)
And my prediction has already come true! Yay, Columbia!
On Columbia!
Hey, this is what you get when you sell out your parents' drug addictions in some Hallmark movie-of-the-week personal statement. Just kidding, Kind of. But seriously, if Columbia thought enough of your app to admit you among the first RDs to get in, then you are bound to be admitted to more schools, and pretty soon I predict.
CLS!!! Congratulations. That is fabulous news. I'm guessing you aren't as desperate for news from NU now!
So much for your no news streak! Congrats on your great acceptances this cycle.
What a phenomenal couple of days you've had. Congratulations!
CLS rules! As does Penn. I wish I could convince you and the AdComms to give me your spot on the one of the two you won't attend. :) Fantastic cycle!!!
I'm the T in GLBT, so I like to lay low. Congrats on your acceptances!
Although probably not quite as worked up as you. I can't imagine what three acceptance back-to-back might do to me.

You're on FIRE! :) Enjoy your weekend basking in the Northwestern (and Penn and Columbia) acceptance afterglow.
Congrats on BOTH CLS AND NWU! WOW!!! It was great meeting you -- you have so much choice ahead of you. I'm pretty sure you'll get NYU, and am confident you have an excellent shot at Boalt and Stanford, too. Fantastic stuff. Lastly, I don't know about you, but...erm...I'm confused at the moment. I'm hoping GW comes to save the day with money...because the debt might be too heavy.
yeah, it was such a relief to finally get an acceptance! Made my week. And congrats on Columbia & Northwestern - - two nice acceptances in two days? Daamn.
Yeah, that's why I posted that thread over on LSD. I don't think I did any optional essays or anything, so I think I'm going to crank some out and get them sent out to the rest of my schools. Looks like your dry spell has ended pretty nicely though..
Northwestern! Hell yeah! Nice work, not that there was ever doubt.
oh, and i doubt your view count is a fluke... three big acceptances in three days will do that to ya.
Looks like you're on quite a streak at the moment. Congratulations on Columbia, Penn, and NW!
Thanks for hte congrats. Sorry for not responding in a while. It takes an effort because LSN doesnt save my login info and it's so slow. Who knows, maybe I'll see you at the next ASW;) Let's hope I make it into NYU! I'll be the one wearing the prettiest dress:D! And congrats on your acceptances. I know you were waiting for a while, and seemed upset, but with patience comes rewards of the greatest value:)
And congratulations on your acceptances too!
WOOHOO! right back! you're dominating this cycle, keep it up!
for the encouragement....i wouldn't have applied if I thought it was garbage...but I've heard they tend to not place well outside of the Tampa area, which isn't where I want to practice.
thanks for your kind note on my wall. yeah, it's sad i know, but it's better than being depressed by myself!!!
Still waiting...I read on their website that the still average multiple scores. That could be it. What's your take on NYU vs. Columbia?
sorry that your hot streak cooled a bit, good luck on your remaining apps and I hope that your cycle ends on a good note. buy hey, you always have three great great schools to fall back on ;)
Hope your GW money works out better than mine does! Best of luck, as always, in making your decision :)
LOL @ your email address. you are a cutie.
For your kind words. I am keeping an optimistic perspective about this whole thing. Admission committees are arcane. Congrats on all your acceptances, wish you the best. I will keep you abreast on my progress. I wll do a rain dance for you, so we can get you into HARVARD!
congrats on all your great news! I am dying right now to hear back from Columbia, but I suppose it's my own fault for applying so late in the cycle. Where do you think you'll end up going?
Yeaaaah. The BC/BU amounts are both tempting (I like BC over BU, myself), but I don't think I'm going to do either (at least right now...). I hate choosing. You have some amazing choices, though...wish you luck on that!
good luck to you too, with what is remaining, not that you need it! now i only hope that we can be acceptance twins too :)
Wondering how the decision making process is going for you? :) I'm pretty set on CLS, I'm thinking (and I don't really expect much money). Hope to see you there!
Man, this is killer. At this point I'm wondering if they lost my application or something.
Haha, yeah, the waitlist was a little rough after having waited so long for a decision, but I'm totally fine with it. I'm 99.999999999 % sure that I'm going to UChicago (never say never). How about you? Northwestern is pretty awesome and it looks like they're throwing a ton of money at you.
oh my god, that was so fast! i literally just made the mistake, realized my mistake, and changed it when i read your comment :) I did mean W.
