It was a while back, around the end of november. Got an email stating that they needed my fall grades to review further.

Hey, Thanks for the condolences. NYU has been my top choice all along, but a Harvard acceptance would have been pretty hard to ignore. Anyway, my status check at HLS has changed to Decision Rendered. So you may still have hope.

I wasn't deferred - didn't hear anything between going complete in November until now. Also, I received a letter in a very small plain envelope which told me I suck at life and that they hope I get accepted to some other school.
Thanks for the congratulatory note. Notre Dame and USC are great choices. I had a great boss who went to Notre Dame Law. The Penn letter came via snail mail.
Thanks for the congratulatory note! I was also surprised to get off the waitlist so early. All I did was write a professor who is the director of the program I was really interested in and he forwarded that email to the admissions committee. In the email I mentioned other schools where I was waitlisted and the scholarship to USC, so that may have helped.... Best of luck to you!!

yeah, the title of the last message was supposed to be: "um, no, MY wait lists bring all the boys to the yard" i thought it was very important to cleary that up.

It's cool -- I'll stock up on the optimism just in case. I can just imagine the good times already... writing letters, finding new good luck charms... we'll have a blast (no 'going to Cornell together,' but fun nonetheless).
Hey, thanks for the well-wishes. Penn WL came by email only. For what it's worth, I looked through the email again: it said that they wanted a waitlist accept/decline by April 23, but take that as you will.

As you already know from the others' reports, it came via e-mail. So which coast is it looking like for you at this point?
I put my deposit down at Temple, and unless I get off the waitlist at Penn, that's where I'm headed. I already live in Philly and want to practice here, and I got full-tuition at Temple, so it was hard to pass up.
