Additional info & updates

First two years of college hurt GPA. Worked full time with too many activities. Hopefully it doesn't hurt too much.

Out of school a few years working as engineer. Registered PE.

12/10/08 - First acceptance letter; Tulsa. Nice scholarship, at least I know I'm not shut out. :)

12/18/08 - In at Creighton with a little scholarship, so that's good. Acceptance came in a large envelope. Got a letter from Nebraska today asking for some more information.

12/31/08 - I had a voice mail from KU. I called them back but everyone was out until Monday for the holiday. It seems like good news though.

1/5/09 - In at KU, Woo Hoo! Got a phone call this morning confirming. I am supposed to be getting a packet some time this week with more information.

1/15/09 - Phone call from Washburn telling me I was in. They said they would follow up with an admissions packet.

1/15/09 - Waitlisted at DePaul. Oh well, no big deal. Letter came in small letter. I'm withdrawling, let someone else have a crack at 'em.

1-28-09 Large envelope from OCU. 60k total scholarship

1/30/09 - Email from UMKC telling me I was in. I am supposed to be contacted by admissions sometimes this coming week.

2/6/09 - Got the letter from UMKC, small envelope. Telling me I got in and giving me a 15k per year scholarship.

2/14/09 - Happy Valentines Day! Washburn gave me a scholarship: 15k per year scholarship renewable for three years. It kind of complicates things but it's a nice problem to have I guess!

3/13/09 - Waitlisted at Nebraska, came in a small white envelope. They say they will let me know sometime in April but I'll probably just withdraw. I'm planning on going to KU or WU and they have seat deposits due before then.

4/14/09 - Sent in my seat deposit for Washburn and withdrew from KU. It's now official, I'm headed to Topeka this fall!

4/21/09 - Officially accepted to UNL. It came in a large envelope on 4/17. I withdrew by email today. To Washburn I go!

06/21/09 - I has a message on my phone last week from UNL that they had decided to give me a scholarship. They didn't say the amount, and I've already made living arrangements in Topeka so it really doesn't matter. I just thought it was a little strange this late in the game.

Congrats on your admissions. Will you be attending KU??

Yeah, I understand that. Shoot, $45k from UMKC is a full ride (do you get resident rates?). That's impressive. But KU Law is really cheap (for a law school, esp such a GOOD law school). So at least if you don't get any scholarships it wouldn't put ya back too awfully much paying out-of-pocket. Going to law school for free would be hard to pass up - congrats, again. And yeah, I def like Washburn and wouldn't mind going there at all. I just can't really relocate and didn't want to drive an hour each way to go to school...but, that may be my only option. So we'll see! :-)

Oh ok, I didn't know if UMKC did the "metro rate" thing or not. That sucks you'd have to pay out-of-state for UMKC. Thankfully Washburn is nice to us Missourians! Good luck with deciding where you want to go.

Congrats

Congrats on your acceptances, you got into all of the local schools with an awesome LSAT score AND graduated from a difficult major. That is awesome!! My LSAT score was a lot lower than yours. For me, the local schools are the ones that are taking the longest to answer. What is your top choice? Did KU offer you a scholarship?

Congrats on all of your options. I have yet to decide where I am going.
