Extra Curricular Information

I've been out of college for a few years working an unexciting office job. It pays the bills, but I have decided to give grad school a shot. After months of research, I've narrowed my interests down to two graduate programs, one of which being law school.

I understand my schools are "reaches," but this is the only time in my life that I will apply to grad school, so might as well hope for those 25% chances.

Good luck to me and to all of you.

I realize sending apps in January is "late" for someone with such low numbers, but after reading books and articles about admissions, I found that some applications aren't reviewed until January, so if you apply in September, your application may sit there for 3 months, on the bottom of the pile.

Haha, I'm probably so wrong!!!

Additional info & updates

3/25/2011: Waitlisted at RU-Camden via e-mail... bummer! I would love that in-state tuition.

2/24/2011: E-mail from RU-Newark - "Committee has voted to defer making a decision on your file until later in the application season."

2/3/2011: Accepted at CUNY via mail - large envelope. Status checker stated "decision rendered" on 1/31/2011.

1/14/2011: Waitlisted at Drexel via status checker the same day I went complete.

I have yet to receive an acknowledgment from Temple either! Perhaps it is calling time?

Thanks for the update, mine came in today as well. I am really excited for the cycle to be complete. I find myself checking my application status too frequently. I wish you the best of luck. Do you have a top choice?

I know, right?! They said I left off a phone number.

Hey I think you are right about applying "late"; as long as you have them in by January for most schools you should have some advantage (I'm saying this probably to ease both of our minds as I also applied "late") Good luck on your cycle!

Sorry this is so late! Just saw your comment now. We have nearly identical numbers! Good luck!!! Hahaha, I'm bracing myself for the rejection from Fordham, but hey, I'm only doing this once so it can't hurt to try. Also, I totally agree with you on the January application thing.

Congratulations on CUNY!

Just got WLed at Drexel too. I'm hoping to hear some good news from CUNY soon. Good luck with Seton Hall. I'm crossing my fingers for us!

Thanks!

Thanks on Pace. :) Sorry about Temple. It's only a matter of time until I get my rejection too. How'd you find out? Status Checker?

I got waitlisted at Camden too! What do you think? They were pretty straight forward in the letter that they don't even start ranking until August. I got my rejection from Temple today as well. Still nothing from CUNY! No decision rendered on status checker... nothing in the mail!

If there ever was a cycle to discourage people from going to law school, I think this was it! I've gone back and forth so many times to putting this off for a year or just doing something else. I can't decide! Congratulations on figuring out what you want to do and good luck with grad school! Thanks for suffering through this with me. :)

Hi!

Sorry this is so late! Yeah, CUNY rejected me! I think it was a YP... but I'm not too upset bc I didn't really want to go there that much anyway. I put my deposit in at Pace, but I'm trying my best to get into Drexel or Villanova. Did you withdraw from the Drexel waitlist? If you didn't and are 100% sure about your grad program, think of me! Hahaha, we have similar stats; it could help me! :) Also did St. John's just like NEVER get back to you? I'm almost really glad I didn't break my back to apply in November like my original plan. I think I would've died under the pressure of waiting an extra 2 months!
