Additional info & updates

Numbers are fudged slightly.
Applied everywhere with a 168.
Feb retake got me a 171.

I initially started this cycle thinking that I wouldn't update this little box, but now I'm thinking it might be fun to chronicle. Here goes a somewhat latent rehash of my cycle so far:

Sep: Solicited LORs from my thesis advisers. It'd been a year or two since we'd spoken so it was good to get back in touch. Worked hard on my PS.

Oct/Nov: Sent the bulk of my applications. I had one LOR in hand and spent several weeks trying to track down the second adviser. Despite his reassurance that he would have it completed by the Early Application deadlines, he failed to follow through. I found it difficult to hold him accountable from a couple thousand miles away.

Dec: Pretty much complete everywhere after my primary thesis adviser flaked (thanks man) and had to scramble to get another recommendation. Accepted at BU (my quasi safety). Deferred at UT, Cornell, and Northwestern.

Jan: Decided that retaking the LSAT might be prudent. Sent LOCIs to UT, Cornell, Northwestern. Accepted at WUSTL. Rejected at UCB, never had a shot with my (relatively) crappy GPA.

Feb: Retook the LSAT, pulled a 171. Non-disclosed administrations suck. Rejected at UVA (I guess they didn't care to wait for my new score). Waitlisted at UCLA and Michigan, accepted at UT and Vandy, all before my new score was released.

Mar: In at NU thanks to my new score! I feel totally redeemed for studying my ass off.

For all intents and purposes my cycle is over. The moral of the story, kiddies, is retake the LSAT.

thanks for the suggestions, do you think a 167 really stands a chance at UCLA?

Wow, that is a quick response from NU with the Feb score. I was waitlisted at Mich before my new Feb score came out even though I told them to wait. Go figure.
