I have a hard time believing that a school could have a majority of faculty so misanthropic at heart. If you feel good about the school, then go for it. I apologize for knowing nothing about Michigan, let alone Cooley, but then again I haven't heard anything BAD about them. :) Good luck.

I live in the area and have many friends that go to Cooley. The value of the education depends on what you want to do and how much debt you will incur. Send me an email with specific questions. Cheers,

Cooley is not well respected in the legal community. A friend of mine who graduated in the top 10% is having a hard time finding a job. Another friends told me that you shouldn't attend Cooley unless: 1) You were going to practice on your own and didn't have to worry about getting hired by anybody. 2) You already had a job lined up for after school and it didn't matter where you went as long as you got a J.D. 3) You don't have to pay a dime for your education. That said, there are many lawyers in Lansing that have graduated from Cooley, but I doubt that the degree travels well. Hope that helps, let me know if you have other questions,

Transfering
Wednesday, August 31 2005 at 08:00 PM

I've probably known 20-30 grads/students in the 5 years I've lived here. Many come in planning to transfer. I don't know how many actually tried to transfer, but only 2 have done it. Don't go planning on transfering. If you do great your first year and have the option of transfering, great, go for it. But, the reality is that odds are against transfering.
