Comments Welcome.

The numbers are my percentage chances at the schools according to ChiaShu 2005 numbers.

Scholarship amounts are three year totals.

12-30-06: I'M IN SOMEWHERE! (First acceptance). I just got back into town and had had a lot of mail to sort through, so I'm not sure of the dates that I received the acceptance letters. Valparaiso acceptance came in a large white envelope. DePaul acceptance came in a large white envelope.

1-13-07: Acceptance letter from Northern Illinois University in a small white envelope. Nice to get another acceptance.

1-18-07: Acceptance email from University of Denver. Cool!

1-27-07: Email telling me I'm on "HOLD" at Illinois. It's exciting that I'm still in the running and that it wasn't a rejection. I also got a provisional list letter (small envelope) from Notre Dame! I hope that somehow works out.

1-29-07: Acceptance letter from Marquette (small envelope).

2-3-07: Deferral letter from Chicago-Kent in a small envelope.

2-10-07: Waitlist letter from Loyola-Chicago in a small envelope. I also got a waitlist letter from Wisconsin in a small envelope.

2-12-07: Acceptance letter from Drake in a small envelope.

3-2-07: Waitlist letter from the University of Colorado in a small envelope.

3-12-07: Acceptance letter from Saint Louis in a large envelope.

3-20-07: Letter from Illinois moving me from deferred to rejected.

3-21-07: Acceptance letter from Iowa! It came in a medium sized envelope.

I got an email about the scholarship just under 3 weeks after I was accepted. It was followed by a letter (just like the acceptance).

Hey there, congrats on all of your acceptances so far. It looks like we're looking at a couple of the same schools. My acceptance to Drake came today, and as far as I can tell, scholarships are not given without FAFSA information. How did that work out for you? Have you already filed a FAFSA and submitted that to Drake's Financial Aid? How did they notify you about your scholarship?

Re: Drake

shouldabeat158- I'm not sure if my FAFSA was in before the scholarship or not (if so, it was barely in). I actually knew what the scholarship amount was going to be, as I previously received a letter from Drake encouraging me to apply, giving me a fee waiver, and telling me of a minimum scholarship amount I would get - related to scores and area of the country where you live. Hope this helps some.

Man, that's a bummer. Congratulations on Iowa though! Is that where you think you'll go?

Kenny Battle - I'm not an Iowa resident. Good luck! I was shocked when I saw that Kenny Battle didn't apply to Illinois. :)

Thanks for the heads up. I thought about Illinois (and Notre Dame) but figured they were too big of reaches. Kudos to you for making ND's waitlist! I hope you get in.
