I did very little prep, I took a dozen or so practice tests and scored high on each of them. I figured anything on top of that would be superfluous. Sorry I can't offer any wisdom.
Thank you :) To prepare for the LSAT, I took a prep-course and self-studied for several months. If I had to give you any advice, I would say take a Powerscore or Testmasters prep-course to start with. I would follow that up by taking practice tests under actual conditions. Come up with a strategy for taking the test (i.e. will you try to get to every question per section? How much time are you left with usually? What kinds of questions do you struggle with? How will you deal with those?) Also, don't take the prep-course as a run-up to the test. Give yourself a little bit of time between the end of the course and the test to self-study. If you have any other questions just let me know.
I used both Powerscore bibles and a bunch of the official practice tests. I'd try this route before paying for an expensive prep course.
I took my first diagnostic in March 07. I scored a 163. Put everything aside but really hit the books at the end of May. I was able to get myself up to 169. At the end of June, I purchased Blueprint Self-Study. I sat in on a Testmasters course at one point but found myself wanting to correct the teacher way too often. I hit a wall in August and couldn't break 170. I took a 1.5 week break towards the end of August and did nothing LSAT related. Early September, I studied hard again and consistently hit 171-175. 3 days before the test, I stopped studying again. I ended up peaking on the real thing. You get out of the test what you put in. It's very learnable.
Good luck man. get a 170+ and you\'ll be sitting pretty!
Break a 170 and you will for sure hit one of the T14\\\\\\\'s!! I might just follow your lead and shoot for that too!
I was curious if you can ED at more than one place?
good luck! did you apply for the fee waivers you received or did schools give them to you?
Sorry about GULC and Fordham!!
I knew you were going to be in there! I'm so excited for you and am waiting excitedly for the rest of your cycle.
What did I say? And it won't stop at Maryland, even if MD is a top choice for you. ;)
Man, I'm surprised you got rejected from the University of Miami, and then you were accepted to the University of Maryland which is much harder...Admissions are strange sometimes.
Good luck on the rest of your cycle!! We have really similar numbers and similar schools. And I'm a CASA too!
Wishing you lots of luck at Northwestern, and congrats on U of Maryland. It is a great school!
how did your interview go at NU? is it still a contender?

Just get a high enough LSAT, show character and most of all integrity and writing ability in your personal statements and supplementary materials. I showed a strong commitment to my family and community which made me sound like a leader. My numbers werent autoadmit material, but I was accepted about 2 weeks after I sent my application out.
