Additional info & updates

12/17-- With the holidays just around the corner, I have yet to hear anything. Apps have been in for about 3.5 weeks. Just waiting on some news... it would be the best Christmas present I could get!

12/18-- JR1! SO psyched.

12/21-- NYU! It's a great school for me for personal reasons so I'm loving it!

Never received any kind of received, complete, or UR notification, so it was all the more surprising to get this first acceptance less than a month after applying!

12/23-- JR1 interview today. Short, but I think I said what I felt I needed to say.

12/28-- I got a Christmas Card from GULC today... 3 days after Christmas *shrugs*

12/29-- In at GULC!

1/11-- JR2! JR2! JR2! JR2! JR2! JR2! JR2! JR2! JR2!
EDIT: Also in at Duke! What a day!

1/13-- Withdrew from Duke and GULC. Couldn't see myself attending over Harvard, even with significant money.

1/29-- Got my letter from CLS today. No scholarship = no chance of attending over Harvard... I'll probably end up with more aid from HLS anyway.

2/19-- In at Penn! Hopefully the admissions committee likes me enough to throw me some serious cash.

2/25-- Invited to apply for a Levy!

2/26-- Waitlisted at Michigan. Don't really know why.

3/9-- Received my aid package from NYU. 62.5k is the word. Withdrawal is probably imminent.

3/10-- Waitlisted at UVA and Chicago. Honestly, Chicago invited me to apply for a merit scholarship 2 days ago and then waitlisted me.

3/18-- Dinged at Yale. Whatever, coming straight from an UG which ranks around 100, I didn't think my chances were very good anyway.

3/19-- Not Waitlisted at Chicago??!? Got an email from Karla Vargas at Chicago saying that my waitlist was in error.

3/20-- Selected as an alternate for the Levy. Sort of disappointed. Slightly annoyed because I feel I would have gotten it with a better essay.

good luck on the cycle. i guess now we find out 2 things: whether applying late nov hurts the cycle, and whether hys averages. hopefully neither..

Yeah..

I hope you're right. You're numbers are more solid than mine, you'll be fine I'm sure. :)

Your numbers are better than mine! I have no doubt that you're going to have a kick-ass cycle.

Thanks!

Tuesday, January 05 2010 at 07:00 PM

hey! i think you replied to one of my TLS posts awhile ago - just wanted to say good luck with everything. also, it seems like we have almost the same numbers (though yours are higher!) and, funnily, almost the same submission/JR1 dates too. hope that it works out for both of us!

CONGRATS!!!

CLS

Hey man, if it's any consolation, I got no monies from Columbia either. Congrats on the acceptance though anyway! Yale should be coming through any day now.

No love from UVA, Michigan, or Chicago either :( Congrats on cycle so far, are you leaning towards Harvard?
