Updates:

4/16: Harvard rejection - cycle is over!

4/13: Waiting on just Harvard now, but I'm guessing a rejection (or a no-hope waitlist at best). Looks like it's going to be Columbia.

2/6: Waitlisted at Penn today. Went under review on 1/23. I'm kinda sad because Penn was a top choice for me (and I was hoping they would offer me good money). Sigh. Oh well, makes my ultimate choice easier, I suppose. FYI: I did write the "Why Penn."

1/30: In at Chicago via phone call! Went to "Decision Pending" yesterday.

1/24: In at Columbia!!!

12/24: NYU! I was told it arrived yesterday, but I made the trip to my mailing address to open the envelope and see for my own eyes.

12/1: First decision! Duke!

11/30: All applications finally out. Decided not to apply to Stanford/Yale unless I do miraculously well this semester (talking A-pluses). Otherwise, I have no real soft factors that would get me in with a lackluster GPA, so I'd rather save the money. The wait begins!

11/19: Before I applied, I had attempted to solicit merit-based fee waivers from NYU, Penn, and Chicago. They all directed me to their need-based waiver form. In other news, I'm surprised I went complete so quickly at NYU given their notoriety for slowness.

11/16: Have sent out 5 out of 9 applications. Taking my sweet time on the Why Mich and Why Penn essays because I don't want to risk being shut out on account of yield protection, and I do really love both schools. Not sure if I'll end up applying to Stanford or Yale as the chances I'll get into either seem too slim.

Aw, your numbers are different from mine now. Given the direction of the change, though, that's definitely not a bad thing.

Yeah, those Why Penn/Mich essays were such a drag to complete but def. a must. Good luck on cycle.
