Additional info & updates

03-31-09: Pulled the trigger on the rest of my schools during the last few days. For a couple of schools I made it clear I hope to make myself a stronger candidate for admissions in the next cycle.

03-23-09: Rejection for U of A. That was really the last school that could have convinced me to attend this year. I guess it is time to send out the withdraw letters to everyone. Wish me luck on the June LSAT!

3-16-09: Not surprisingly, I received my rejection for Loyola today. Since I've more or less decided to wait another year, it doesn't hurt as much as it should. I've already begun studying for the June LSAT, getting better recommendation letters and I've written a completely new person statement. I REALLY like Penn State but I honestly think I can do much better on the LSAT and I don't want to sell myself short if I don't have to. Additionally, the economy has made it damn near impossible for me to attend school this year anyway.

03-11-09: Received a rejection from Syracuse. Have to admit I am pretty surprised and disappointed. They were expensive, though. I'm going to be withdrawing from Willamette and Marquette as well. At this point, Penn State is the definite leader and it seems silly to hold places at the other schools if I am certain I won't attend them.

02-13-09: Sent a letter to Indy today to withdraw. It is a wonderful school but all the evidence suggests I will have better job prospects coming out of Penn State. I just don't see myself staying in Indiana.

02-06-09: Willamette acceptance today! Even got some scholarship money. Takes a little weight off my shoulders. I'll have a lot of thinking to do as I move forward in the admissions cycle. I'd love to stay in Oregon but I hear things about harsh curves, limited job opportunities and ultra-competitive students.

02-04-09: Got my rejection from Lewis and Clark yesterday. Apparently, I wasn't even good enough for the PT program. That puts a pretty dark cloud over my cycle. Penn State was looking good before, now they are looking awesome. Penn State's Semester in DC program looks to be really interesting as well.

01-31-09: Not much law school contact recently other than the expected rejection of IU-B and a "meh" rejection from Case Western. I did attend the Willamette open house today and walked away quite impressed. I also found out my app just recently went to the admission committee so maybe I will hear something soonish. Interesting side note, I met a pretty young lady who attended Washington State. Always nice to meet new people, especially cute ones.

01-17-09: Pile of mail at my mom's house. I had a large packet from Marquette with their most recent issue of Marquette Lawyer magazine and some basic financial aid info and seat deposit stuff. Seat deposit is due April 15 so I have time. I received the official waitlist letter from Seattle U as well as another waitlist from Saint Louis University. Seton Hall was nice enough to at least give me a decisions even if it was a rejection. I guess Newark would have sucked any way.
3-2-4 is an OK record I suppose.

01-15-09: Got an e-mail from Seattle U. for their status checker and I logged in to find I have been waitlisted as of the 12th. Bummer.

01-14-09: Been quiet lately, just usual junk e-mails, a couple of fee waivers (Vermont Law School and Dayton) and Pacific now has a status checker. I'm kinda annoyed that my login for each school's status checker is just slightly different from one another. Oh, and I got my acceptance e-mail from Penn State!!!! Boo-ya! I am currently the worst stat holder on the Penn State graph so I guess that says my PS was pretty good. lol

12-27-08: Got my rejection letter from George Mason today. No huge surprise there. I wasn't exactly competitive but hey, fee waiver, so no harm, no foul.

12-17-08: Figured it was about time to start keeping track of my responses. I got a letter from Miami stating they were putting me on "hold" and Pitt simply sent me an e-mail saying essentially the same thing. I got my acceptance letter today from Marquette. Cheers to getting in at a school before Christmas. I don't expect I'll hear much more until after the holidays.

Good luck getting into schools. One question: did Willamette notify you that your application was complete, and if they did, how long did it take? Thanks!

Just wondering if you had heard anything from Gonzaga before your application was complete? Thanks and good luck.

Congrats on IU-Indy, it's my top choice. Is your scholarship of $22,500 per year? Or total for all 3 years? Also, how did you hear about the scholarship and how long did it take? Thanks!
