6/17. A quick update to help people and those looking at this next year. I was recently accepted off the waitlist and UVA and logistically accepted off the waitlist at Penn. I sent LOCI to both which definitively had an impact. Both schools sent me an email asking about whether I was still interested and to call and discuss my application. UVA offered me admission and offered to match my 60k scholarship from peer schools. They said that they had not been offering people money off the waitlist but that some became available and since i would have qualified as a regular admit they could offer me that amount as a waitlist admit. The story with penn is a little different. When i called to discuss my application, they told me a few spots should open up in the coming days and they wanted to recommend my file for acceptance. I asked about merit aid as I would not realistically attend without some. The ad com on the phone said they believed there was none available but would get back to me. After a few hours they sent me an email saying that indeed no merit aid was available or would become available. I promptly withdrew. Still hoping for a miracle from Stanford, but getting excited for NYU.

4/25. After thinking long and hard, I decided to attend NYU at sticker v. Michigan with some scholarship money. In the end, it really came down to NY being where I wanted to live /work and where I think I will most enjoy my 3 years of law school. I will be riding out a few waitlists, but otherwise happy to be at NYU and starting law school in the fall!

4/20. Long awaited DLS from stanford. Called up and was told it was a waitlist. Not terribly dissapointed, glad to still have a shot! Now its time to make the hard decision between Michigan and NYU. I am pretty sure I know which I will choice, but am still mulling it over. I am already prepared to ride the Stanford and Columbia waitlists all summer.

2/1 - Waitlisted at UVA. Not a shocker given their propensity to waitlisted out of state applicants. I will be attending the NYU and Michigan ASW's, my cycle is quickly being finalized. Still praying for Stanford.

1/21 - Good and bad news today. In at Michigan via the admitted students site, but rejected from Harvard via email. Guess the dream had to end at some point.

1/14 - Just got waitlist email from Penn. Kind of disappointed, was hoping to have a choice between Penn and NYU. NYU is the clear front runner unless I can miraculously get in to Harvard or Stanford.

12/13 - Got the purple envelope in the mail today, officially in at NYU! It feels really nice to have an acceptance like this under my belt, but i'm afraid it's going to be a long wait for another big decision.

12/9 - Have been checking my NYU status checker religiously since people started getting acceptances. As of today, it officially says decision letter sent!! I figure (hope) this is an acceptance like the other people who are finding out already. Prematurely excited!

12/8 - Finally went complete at Columbia. Officially the last school I was waiting to go complete at, but now the real wait begins. Also saw Stanford gave out its first batch of acceptances today. I would absolutely love to go there, but I know its a stretch with my lsat. I'm definitely dreaming though.

12/7 - Parents gave me a call and told me I had an acceptance letter from William and Mary. Also told me i received a scholarship around 25k a year, look forward to reading the letter when I get home for break.

11/29 - Just got back from Thanksgiving break. Had a nice handwritten acceptance letter from Georgetown in my mailbox dated 11/22. No scholarship money unfortunately, but it feels pretty cool to get my first acceptance.

Thanks for the PM. And congrats on NYU and Georgetown! Why no Berkeley with that GPA?
