Additional info & updates

3/9 - Received my first acceptance letter, via status checker and notified of the update through e-mail. Nova Southeastern University. Safety school, but it feels good to know that I'll at least be going to law school in the fall.

3/20 - Received my second acceptance letter. Ohio Nothern University. Another safety school, but between them and Nova thus far, my top choice. Received two letters in the mail, one big envelope and one small envelope. Good start to my cycle so far, going 2-2. It's good knowing I'll at least have options, especially when going into the LSAT, I thought I'd be fortunate to just get in somewhere.

3/23 - Received my third and fourth acceptance letters. Big envelope in Saturday's mail from John Marshall, offering 6k/year on top of admission providing I stay within the top 20%. My fourth came from St. Thomas University. At least, I'm assuming that I was accepted. I recieved an E-mail congratulating me on being accepted and offered a $300 travel voucher to attend their welcome seminar this Friday...not going to be able to make that on short notice. Still, not too bad a start to my cycle, going 4 for 4.

4/6 - Multitude of updates. First, received a letter from St. Thomas University offering me $25,000/year, renewable if I stay in the top 25% of my class. Got a phone call from Ohio Northern University, offering me $25,000/year if I maintain a 3.0. Acceptance phone call from Michigan State University, E-mail notifications from St. John's University, The University of Miami and Hofstra. E-mail notification from Villanova that I'd been placed on the active waitlist and a big package in the mail from Thomas Cooley, with a 75% tuition scholarship. That brings my running tally up to 9-0-1. I NEVER thought I would have this much success with my applications...or else I wouldn't have applied to so many places! I figured being a late applicant and with splitter-numbers, it would be a toss up almost anywhere. I suppose this is a good problem to have though.

4/7 - Now approaches dillemma time. I thought I had made up my mind with The University of Miami, but an envelope came in the mail from St. John's University, offering me $15,000/year, renewable if I stay in the top HALF of my class. I'll need to do some gorilla-math to determine if it really is the best option...I'm way too tired to even try it tonight. Does anybody have any insight between the two schools that could offer me some much needed advice?

4/20 - More updates. Accepted via snail mail to Capital University (large envelope, 20,000 scholarship), Toledo (small envelope - I was pissed at first, thinking they had rejected me (even though I have no intention of going there...inferiority complex, anyone?)), big envelope from Barry. Rejected at Ohio State via e-mail, waitlisted at Penn State via small envelope (no surprises at either). E-mail acceptance from Akron (which is where I went to undergrad), offering me 21,000 a year. This is especially enticing because their full tuition and fees is only 17,000 per year...so an extra 4,000 a year for books/living stipend.

Right now, I've got it between Akron and Miami. The new USNWR rankings have Miami jumping 11 spots, so maybe it's an indication that their on the climb. I have no idea what I want to do with my JD degree, so my main criteria for picking a law school right now comes down to where will give me the most options and where will I graduate with the least amount of debt. So far, that's Akron and Miami, and they seem to be pretty much mutually exclusive with one in each hemisphere.

Hey, I am considering AKRON for next year and I see you are 1L there this year. How do you like it so far? Has it been difficult to hold on to the scholarship? Thanks in advance!
