Additional info & updates

Scholarship info is for all three years

--------------------------------------------------------

1/17 -- in at Rutgers via email. I'm going to law school!

1/19 -- big envelope from Rutgers with scholarship info.

1/25 -- small envelope from NYLS but with a lot in it. I got kinda scared for a moment!

1/30 -- email from Brooklyn Law!

02/04 -- rejected from the BC. Not completely surprising since I heard they were unpredictable but it still hurts!
-- small but thick envelope from Seton Hall. They're giving me a $30,000 a year scholarship. very tempting

02/12 -- thin envelope from GW. I wasn't completely surprised because not too many people in my index were getting in. Just angry at myself for paying for applications and not putting a ton of effort into all of them. I meant to send an addendum explaining my LSAT scores (my other score isn't up because I'm completely paranoid), but it didn't occur to me until it was too late. Oh well.

02/15 -- rejected from Fordham via status checker. really disappointed. :(

02/21 -- Georgetown status checker went to Decision today. Oh how I love receiving those rejection letters.

02/26 -- yup, I was right. G-Town and NYU rejections. Wasn't expecting to get in anyway but it still hurts!
--Also, reapplied to the Fordham evening program. It's so not like me to take an alternative route but I wanna go there so bad!

04/13 -- STILL waiting. The wait is killing me. I called Fordham and they said that they should have a better idea this week because their deposit deadline is 4/15.
--no clue what's happening with Cardozo.

04/30 -- Got a phone call telling me that I'm in at Fordham!! I can't believe it!

**I'M GOING TO FORDHAM!!!! :)**

Good luck to everyone who's still waiting!

05/08 -- got a call from BLS today after withdrawing from them asking why I won't be attending and offering $41,000/yr plus 3 years of guaranteed housing.
SO HARD TO TURN THAT DOWN :(

Hey there, I also just got a ding from GW...which is strange b/c I didn't even know they were reviewing my application. Did they send you something when your file went complete? GL on the rest of your appys..at least you have some schools so far with acceptances!

Northeastern
Thursday, January 03 2008 at 07:00 PM

Why didn't you apply to Northeastern?

Ohhhhh
Thursday, January 03 2008 at 07:00 PM

Congrats to you too! I might be slightly masochistic but I think this process is actually kind of fun! Haha it is definitely exciting. So then I assume NYU and Columbia would be your first two choices? That would be amazing, good luck! Although I have a few more schools to hear from, I'll probably wind up at Northeastern. I really like the co-op program and the fact that they don't give letter grades or a class rank so there is less pressure on the students. Well good luck again, I'll be rooting for ya.

Sorry

to you fellow Asian/Caucasian.

Asian/Caucasian
Tuesday, January 08 2008 at 07:00 PM

Yeah. I pretty much had to put both because my PS is about my experiences splitting time between both my White and Asian families, but it would be interesting to know if being a half is more "diverse" than just being fully Asian.

Most definitely

BLS is my first-choice. I hope they get me off the waitlist quickly! Where do you want to go if for some reason, God forbid, Fordham rejects you from PT admission? I see you're from Boston, have you visited NY schools? If not, you should come! lol, good luck on Fordham. Keep me posted. -=]

NYC

Good luck with Fordham... and if SH had offered me that kind of money, I'd be headed there... are you leaning that way, if Fordham is full? SH's ties to the UN are really really tempting. I may end up trying to study abroad through them, in Zanzibar! haha

Thanks

Any updates on the cycle?

Hey
Saturday, December 15 2007 at 07:00 PM

Yeah, that's almost always the case. But with your numbers, I'm thinking Fordham should take you PT. There are plenty of people with your numbers that get into their PT program. But anyway, you should be happy you got into BLS with such a large scholarship! I can only dream that that happens to me. Well anyway, best of luck again and keep me posted. BTW, its the one titled "Thanks." ...Thanks!

I just don't think it's a good idea to disclose information that can be potentially identifying. Hey IM me on AIM sometime and I'll tell you why. Wish me luck on BLS!

Yeahh
Saturday, December 15 2007 at 07:00 PM

they suck. Forget them. I dont mind sharing info with you but not here. Email or IM me, we can chat there.

Lol
Saturday, December 15 2007 at 07:00 PM

I see you've become totally paranoid like I have. I REALLY hope I get in too. I will definitely keep you updated about that - I'd to have someone to talk to during orientation so it won't be completely awkward! lol. You have my email and AIM, you know where to find me.

Hi, Thanks!
Saturday, October 20 2007 at 08:00 PM

Hey, there. My 164 is my highest. So it sounds like you have a good chance! I'm pulling for you, since it looks like I'll be attending, you can be my first friend. Good luck. Keep me updated, I'll add you to my watchlist.

Hi Jess
Saturday, December 15 2007 at 07:00 PM

Thanks for the support. I have e-mailed several of the admissions officers, including the Dean, at BLS. I am trying not to call them because I know that once I start, I'll be calling them every other day, and that would only impede the admissions process. I'm really hoping for a good outcome with them. So, in that effect, we are on the same boat of "waiting for decisions from our top choices." I feel you lol. I have my fingers crossed for the both of us. Let me know how it goes! Haha. -=]

Heyyyy
Saturday, December 15 2007 at 07:00 PM

I'm IN at BLS P/T division...I'm happy but I sorta wanted to be in fulltime. They said I can definitely transfer into the FT division if my grades are good enough after the first semester. I'm hoping they get me into a FT seat when one opens up! Any updates with you?

Hey
Saturday, October 20 2007 at 08:00 PM

I do plan on transferring to FT, if I decide to attend. Do you know the requirements? Would you want to do the same?

Congratulations!!!
Saturday, December 15 2007 at 07:00 PM

That's great news! I'm really glad you got into where you really want to be. Yeah, I'm kinda bummed that you won't be at Brooklyn (maybe you can give me your FT seat and $$! lol), but hey, I'm still VERY happy for you. You're gonna have a great time there, enjoy it! -=] Good luck with everything, and best wishes Jess! Seriously, contact me sometime, we can compare experiences.
