I left a reply on my account too, but I'm not 100% on the appropriate protocal for this network, so I thought I'd respond here as well. By deferred at UC I did mean the 'hold' category. They are up to date on my transcripts, so that's not really an option for me, but I may try to write the essay as long as it is not too time-consuming. I wish they had just asked for an additional letter of rec. That woulda been easy to get done. What do you think it actually means to be put on hold? Do you think it is better or worse than waitlisted?
Yeah, I actually do think it's better than being waitlisted. One person on the UC forum thought we are on the cusp - rather than being waitlisted waiting for a seat to open during the summer....
Did you ever end up sending in any extra materials to chicago?
Yeah, I did. I sent out the additional essay last Friday. It was a stressful week!
I sent an essay, though I do not think it was exactly what they wanted. I didn't want to waste extra time writing something only to be rejected, so I found a report I did that involved a best seller and omitted all references to other works and sent that along with a page in front with a brief synopsis of the report....I was hoping they wouldn't read past the cover page and were just looking for interest :op
Hey dude, I am really interested in public interest...and U of C's LRAP doesn't cut it. I would have to head the corporate route...which is not my thing.
