Preferred Waitlist
Tuesday, March 29 2005 at 07:00 PM

I am deferred at Georgetown from EA, but I have heard from folks who are on the priority waitlist as well as the regular waitlist. The priority waitlist does exist and I actually think you have a good shot at getting in off that waitlist. now as a deferred person, I have no idea, I'm supposed to hear something in february.

Same boat?

Congrats on your acceptances! When you say "deferred" UC, does that mean the "hold" category? Are you going to do the essay/submit additional materials?

Yeah...I meant the hold category...I didn't know how else to describe it. I'm not sure about submitting the additional essays yet. They are already up to date on my transcripts, so the only thing I could do is right an essay. I probably will though just because it will look better I think, but if I don't have time, then I'm not planning to force it. Plus, the topics would require some research and/or reading on my part, which may prove to be too time consuming.

Same Boat then

Yeah, I actually do think it's better than being waitlisted. One person on the UC forum thought we are on the cusp - rather than being waitlisted waiting for a seat to open during the summer....

Yup - you?

I sent out the extra essay - how about you?

additional material

I sent a portion of a report i had done already on a best selling novel though I'm not sure that's exactly what they were looking for. I didn't want to spend a lot of extra time writing something else only to be rejected as that would make me angry. I'm hoping they will just skim it and are looking to see if were still truly interested or not...Guess we'll find out soon enough... If it doesn't go my way, I'm more than happy to go to Cornell anyway!

Cornell?

Are you pretty sure you're going to Cornell? I'm at Lehigh now as well and I'm waiting on some financial aid decisions right now but theres a real good chance thats where I'll end up next year.

Yeah I was at the one over break and remember you as well. I was the tragically overdressed kid in the back (first school visit ever, didn't know what was appropriate). I did a Phil minor at Lehigh but I have no idea if we had any classes together...I actually decided on Duke a few weeks ago so I guess I won't see you in the Fall, but if you want to chat about Lehigh or all things law school shout me an email or something. I'll be around in Bethlehem this Summer while I get ready for school in the Fall.
