Browsing through recent UH decisions and noticed your profile. I'm guessing you're the same LonghornGal on TLS deciding between UH and a Tech full-ride? UH in a landslide as far as career prospects go. Congrats on Tulane. I was admitted there as well. I'm still waiting on my UH decision (and will continue living on LSN/TLS/LSD until I get it :). UH is still my first choice, but I find Tulane also attractive. Why the pass? Are your concerns purely financial?

Hey! I noticed that you're going to Tech too. Congrats and hopefully I'll see you here. I go to undergrad here so let me know if you have any questions about where to live or anything like that. Well for what it's worth, I know people who live in both complexes, and I've only heard good things about each of them, so you should be fine no matter what you decide.
I am visiting Lubbock in a couple of weeks to check out the school and participate in some mock-classroom type deal. Anyways, I was wondering what your opinion of the city itself was? TxTech is one of my two choices for next year.
I'm in a similar situation-- and I have mixed emotions toward your decision. First- way to be practical-- free/cheap is certainly a smart choice. But, St Mary's used to be a T3 (as recent as 2003)... they have since fallen to T4. If Tech falls to 4 in the future, will you regret your decision?
