Additional info & updates

NOTE: Scholarships are per year.

8-16-12: Email from Rutgers that there class is full hence I'm rejected.

8-14-12: St John's finally got back to me regarding my application. Rejected. Took them long enough.

6-6-12: I didn't get any merit base scholarship with Syracuse but they have their own financial aid grants and just got an email that they will allocate 8K for me each year. This is a no-strings attached grant. But I've already decided to attend Buffalo so I hope this money will go to other students who wish to attend Syracuse.

6-4-12: Withdraw from Hofstra and paid my seat deposit to Buffalo. So excited to be finally done with everything!!!

6-1-12: Withdraw from Syracuse and Pace.

5-29-12: Got a call from Buffalo and I'm in!!! Got a letter from Hofstra that I'm not qualify for any scholarships. Leaning towards Buffalo.

5-17-12: Received acceptance package from Pace along with a 12K scholarship. Now I have to make a choice between Pace and Hofstra, I would pick Hofstra but the 12K is tempting. I am still expecting an official acceptance letter from Hofstra so let's hope there is some scholarship money there so my decision will be much easier.

5-15-12: Accepted at Hofstra!!! Withdraw from NYLS.

4-29-12: Accpeted at NYLS, and I will only consider if there is a large financial aid package which I don't think there is. Will stick with Syracuse.

4-15-12: Paid my seat deposit to Syracuse and withdraw from Albany.

4-13-12: Visited Syracuse Law. Very excited about attending.

4-11-12: Got letter from Albany for a 10K scholarship. This is giving me a headache. I was set to go to Syracuse but now with the scholarship to Albany, should I reconsider?

4-4-12: Made up my mind to withdraw from Southwestern. Not going to move to CA.

3-23-12: Waitlisted at New York Law via email.

3-22-12: Waitlisted at Southwestern via email. Not sure if I want to be on the waitlist since my heart is set to stay in NY.

3-19-12: Withdraw from Quinnipiac, hope this allows someone else who is more interested in this university to attened.

3-8-12: Finally heard back from St. Johns, another wait list.

3-7-12: Withdraw from Widener, WV Law, and UBalt Law. Hope this helps those that are waiting.

3-5-12: Accepted to Syracuse!! First acceptance in NY!! Tour Quinnipiac on Sat. and was worry about coming back to NYC after graduation but now I'm not worry anymore. But didn't get any scholarships, will contact admissions to see if anything can be done.

3-2-12: Visited UConn and Hofstra. Like Hofstra a lot but still on the waiting list.

2-15-12: Second rejection came today and it's another school in NY. Still hoping to hear some good news. Wrote letter of intent to all schools that I've been placed on wait-list. Also will be visiting Quinnipiac on their open house in March.

1-19-12: My first rejection came today and its from Brooklyn Law. Very very disappointed since it was one of my top 5 choice. Hopefully there will be some good news before any more dreadful ones.

1-18-12: Waitlisted from UConn via email. Still no news from another school in NYC. Sent a letter to Hofstra expressing my interest but attending but not sure if it actually helps me or gets filed in the massive piles of paper work that they get each year.

1-4-12: Waitlisted at Northeastern via Status Checker.

12-20-11: Got a call from Western New England that I'm accepted!!! An email from Widener a few hours later that I'm IN!!! I am very excited about all the good news but I really want to stay in my hometown, NYC but no luck there yet. Keeping my fingers cross.

12-19-11: It's Monday and I'm obsessing with the status checker, everything is pending review.

12-14-11: First waitlist notice from Hofstra. At least it's not a "Not Accepted".

12-10-11 Good news thus far. Hopefully the streak will continue.

10-5-11 Brooklyn Law is finally accpeting applications so sent one out today. I've been thinking that I might need to branch out more. Super worried that none of the schools I've applied to will accept me. Where else should I go?

10-4-11 Sent out more applications, my nerves have calmed down since the first batch of applications went out. The more I send out the more I feel like I'll get into somewhere. I really hope to stay in NYC. I received a lot of fee waivers and some of them by just emailing the school and asking if they would give it to me. Some schools like St. Johns and Albany didn't give me one but most other schools have waived my application fee.

9-28-11 Sign up for LSN, wanted to share my experience here. I have been very anxious about applying to law school. Right after college I took the LSAT with minimum preparation and bombed it with a 140 so I thought I will never apply. Early this year I thought I'll give it another try since it's been 5 years since the last LSAT my score will not show up anymore. I took the Princeton Review Prep and studied for 6 months then took the test in June. The test is just as I remember, pure evil and hard! This time I got a 151 (48th percentile), I actually cried my eyes out when I got the email but "when life hands you lemon you make lemonade."

I'm not going to postpone my plans anymore and just going to apply to see if I will be accepted anywhere. My GPA is not bad and I got a B.S. in paralegal studies. I hope this will be in my favor, though I heard it doesn't matter what your undergrad is when you are applying.

I want to wish everyone else best of luck and just go for it!

Hi!

I, too, straight out of College thought, "How hard could the LSAT be?" (since I previously never had trouble with tests, standardized or otherwise). HA! The LSAT shattered my psyche and my pride. Yet, I was determined to get into Law school so I studied, and studied and studied, from 2007 until the present. My best effort was in June of this year (152), but I just took the October exam in hopes of an improved score. It's the very LAST time, however, that I will face that Beast. I've only applied to Pace this time around (looking to begin in their January 2012 Accelerated Program). Good luck to you. Stay positive, focused, and more importantly, determined!!! :)

Good luck in your cycle. We're applying to several of the same schools. However, as the poster above me pointed out, Chinese is not a URM. Be careful about putting that.

Hi. We are applying to some of the same schools. Albany is my first choice. Did you hear anything about scholarships from them? What is your top choice?

I haven't heard anything from Albany regarding scholarships, maybe I didn't qualify. At this point my top choice is Syracuse. Good luck with your process!

I applied only for full time and they emailed me stating that their class is full hence they couldn't offer me a seat.
