Additional info & updates

Pretty much down to Franklin Pierce and Duquesne.
Would appreciate any posts that would help me choose. I'd like to do copyrights/trademarks so Franklin Pierce looks great but I'm also really into Forensic Science and Duq has a great program on that...I'd probably be interested in corporate law as well if I went to Duquesne.

Franklin Pierce- I really loved my visit. I like the small town environment- less distractions. The students/faculty seemed really nice and I would love to take advantage of their new IP clinic. I don't care about it, but I'm afraid it's drop to T4 may hurt employment prospects. I've been told the Dean is taking pro-active steps to rectify this. I'm also afraid, even though I DON'T want to do patent, my employment prospects may be limited due to my B.S. in Communications and not something like Chemistry or Engineering.

Duquesne- I love Duq! :-)

Duquesne was my only top choice for a very long time and I told myself I would go no matter what. Then Franklin Pierce accepted me and gave me some $ so now I'm torn.

Update- after a weekend of doing NOTHING but online research on the two schools and speaking with current students, I'm set on attending Duquesne.

Update #2- So I just got a $10,000/yr scholarship from Duquesne!!! I am really happy and just sooooo grateful that they even gave me anything given my abysmal #'s.

Update #3- So I thought it was a diversity scholarship but I just talked to people in admissions and it's an academic scholarship. Either way, I'm still happy. Just sent in my first $250 deposit today (deadline is tomorrow 5-11) so it's a done deal and I'm pretty excited. Now I need to come up with $750 for the 2nd deposit due on June 1st. :- Duq's deposits are definitely the most expensive of all the schools to which I got accepted.

As I have now decided what school I will be attending, I will be withdrawing from the remaining schools by the end of the week. Hopefully it'll help those on waitlists and those still waiting to hear back from schools.

Hey congrats on Duquesne. Its good to hear from future classmates and I look forward to meeting everyone. Any ideas about where you might live in Pittsburgh? I started looking for places a few weeks ago but I am interested in finding out where other students might live.

hello future classmate! i do not think they have had an admitted student event as of yet :-) It would be nice if there is one sometime this summer though!

Yeah, yeah...you will see an "A" next to Duq on my profile very shortly! I was sort of waiting on Widener but deep down I am excited to go to Duquesne and experience a new city. What part of NY are you from?

I have been up to Pace to visit (a good friend of mine goes there)- That is near Westchester, NY, isn\\\'t it? It was pretty nice there but the tuition is really expensive. Duquesne is where I want to be!

Hey, yeah..I'm going to Duq, forget Rutgers and Seton Hall, they're taking entirely too long to decide. I loved Duq. when I visited anyway, it was amazing. See you in August!

Hello, no I most likely won't attend duquense unless they grant me a full scholarship, which I know is probibly doubtful. Anway congrats on your acceptance. I saw the school before and liked it. My ex is from Pittsburgh, I thought the area was nice, just that the weather is a bit much. Take care!!

Duq scholarship!!

Wow that is awesome!! Congrats. I am curious though where you found that information about how Duq. was the 4 whitest school in the country.??I wonder where my school ranks?? I know there aren't many Latinos, but i'm sure there are some. Just not as many as I would like, but the lack of them probibly did me for the better. Take care,
